Vine Cottage, Porlock
Well located in Porlock, easy access to shops, restaurants and pubs. Very well appointed cottage, ideal for North Devon/Somerset. Highly recommend.

Nice thatched cottage. Owners were very accommodating. Nicely situated on edge of Exmoor. Only advice Check your brakes before you go. Porlock hill is extremely steep and is classed as part of A39

There were wonderful veiws from the bedroom and they provided lots of infomation about the area in the cottage. The DVD player was also easy to use and they provided some 2 DVDs if you forgot to bring any of your own as well as some light readingto enjoy during your stay. The duvets were very think and soft so kept you warm during the night. Altogether it was a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the wonderful outdoors.

Comfortable stay in Porlock.
Porlock was lovely! We had a comfortable & quiet stay at The Gables. Louise was friendly & helpful. Breakfast delicious. Floors were squeaky - you get that it old houses - so you can be disturbed by other visitors moving around.

Perfect place to stay in Porlock village.
This is our third stay here and we absolutely love it! The property is beautiful, the room is clean and spacious with good facilities. Bed is very comfy. The couple who run and own the B&B are friendly and helpful. We love Porlock so it’s great being in a quiet spot but two minutes walk into the village. Our two dogs were welcome and we enjoyed some lovely walks with them. Breakfast is always very good. We will definitely stay again.

Great B&B for several nights
Good place to stay whilst exploring Exmoor. Plenty of space in the rooms. Easy to find though parking is either in the local Pay & Display or on the road. Located right in the centre of Porlock, where teh best dinner was foud at the Lorna Doone hotel.

An absolute gem...
An absolute gem in a really lovely village. I'd certainly stay here again. The owners were great. Very friendly and keen to ensure everyone has a good stay. The breakfast was tasty and enough to fuel us up for the day. Cooked breakfast and cereals available. The B&B doesn't have its own parking, but there's a car park next door that is free 6pm-9am, so if you're out for the day then it's not an issue. There's some free parking available further up the street, and further car parks in the village if needed. We didn't struggle to park except for one evening when we returned just around dinner time. But even then we found a space on the road. There are several pubs and restaurants in the village, and the B&B is easy walking distance to them all, being located just off the main street. Room was spacious and clean and WiFi was available. We were out and about most of our time there, but if you wanted to stay around the house for more of the day then that would be possible too. There's a guest lounge provided, and access to a well kept garden.

Perfect stay.
We only stayed for 2 nights, but this bed and breakfast was perfect, the hosts chris and Louise made us feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. My husband is coeliac , so no gluten,we emailed when we booked and they made sure he had a choice of breakfasts cold and hot.The room was very comfortable and quiet. Would certainly book again.

Cute B&B With Very Helpful Owners
This was a very nice place to stay. The room was very comfortable, and it was really nice to have a family suite with 2 separate rooms in one. The owners were there as we were arriving and helped us to park. They were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, not the best we had on the trip, but still tasty and filling.

Beautiful cottage in lovely area :)
Would highly recommend The Gables, mainly to dog owners but for anyone. Very warm and friendly welcome, beautiful building, room was top notch with reasonable sized bathroom attached. Breakfast too was very nice and of good quality. Looking forward to returning at some point. Big thumbs up from us.

Great thatch
This hotel is being continuously improved by its owners and is one of our great finds. Parking is next door but very workable. Food was good and the bed was comfy.

Idyllic stay.
Lovely thatched property in a quiet lane but with easy access to the shops. We were made most welcome from beginning to the end of our stay,we would have loved to stay longer! Highly recommended & not just for the superb breakfast but also for the friendliness of all there.

Lovely thatched cottage with good size bedroom overlooking the garden and separate large, bathroom. Comfortable bed, sensible guest information (not overload). Cracking breakfast - the best we've had for ages.

Amazing B&B - Highly Recommend
I spent a wonderful 2 weeks in the Gables. Sue and Dennis were a lovely couple and very flexible. The breakfasts were very filling - good if you are planning on walking. The rooms were extremely clean and very comfortable. I would definitely come again. Porlock is the perfect base for starting walks.

Quaint, quiet and central to the village.
Spent one night and it was excellent with a large room and side room. The breakfast was excellent too, my partner is a chef and she was impressed too. We took the owners advice and walked the short distance through the village to the old Ship Inn for s lovely dinner and a pint of Otter Ale.

Great stay in extremely quiet location. The room was very clean and comfortable with different beverages and lovely biscuits. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice. Porlock is a pretty town with good eating establishments and convenient for exploring the coast and Exmoor.

Really good from first email from the owner right through our stay. Great part of the country near Exmoor and the sea and many National Trust, English Heritage and other attractions. The Bakelite Museum in Williton is worth an hour of anyone's time.

Es geht nicht besser, Chris und seine Frau sind die perfekten Gastgeber (Hilfsbereitschaft und Nettigkeit sind nicht zu toppen). Für die Unterkunft sprechen die Bilder (Sauberkeit, Lage, Geschmackvolle Inneneinrichtung) für sich. Es findet alles im kleinen gemütlichen und persönlichen Rahmen statt. Wir haben hier zu dritt drei wundervolle Tage verbracht. Ideale Lage, um Ausflüge zu machen (Küste, Dunster, Exmoor und auch weiter).

Märchenhaftes Cottage in einem hübschen Dorf
Leider waren wir nur auf der Durchreise. Gerne wäre ich hier etwas länger geblieben. Das Haus hat einen schönen Garten, der zum Verweilen einlädt. Sue, unsere Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und humorvoll. Das Frühstück war das beste, welches wir auf der ganzen bisherigen Reise hatten, der Frühstückstisch war wunderschön und liebevoll gestaltet! Erachte einfach nur Spaß hier. Vielen Dank Sue!
