The room had it's own entrance onto the grounds and as we had our dog, provided ample space and equipment to allow for some self catering. Breakfast was taken in the adjoining farmhouse with the other guests and everything was nice and friendly. We will certainly stay again.
Arrived at Brean Sands, the shop staff were extremely rude, but the reception staff lovely. The room was clean and had what we needed for a night's stay. I am glad we only had one night as we were right next to the fun fare, which started back up at 9AM so it would not have been quiet. Overall It was a pleasant surprise from all the comments I had read. It is a Pontins and to be fair, I expected a lot worse, the entertainment was very eermm trying to say it with diplomacy .....a bit arm if I say toilet humor you might get the message, I found it not suitable for little ones but hey ho... overall excellent for a night or two.
Stayed one night, the room was clean and newly decorated. The bathroom had clean towels and toiletries and water hot.
Good choice of food and drinks at breakfast and food well cooked. Dining room and living room are well furnished and games and magazines.
The pool is clean and open all day
It was good to stay in a hotel which is different to the more modern spa hotels where all the rooms are the same.
The staff are keen to assist in any way they can. The receptionist remembered my name and staff in the restaurant had the knack of being there when needed and somewhere else when not. The restauant may not be to everyone's taste. It seeks to be high cuisine which means the food is very good but the portions, whilst adequate, may seem a bit small to some. It is also expensive. However, unusually for this type of restaurant there are some reasonably priced wines available. I would recommend that guests try the restauant at least once but if you prefer something more homely there is a really good pub about 200 yards away with a thatched roof, cask ales and the home baked pies are just brilliant.
Breakfast at this hotel is teriffic. Its not the usual buffet available in most hotels anywhere on the planet - you order what you want and they prepare it fresh. Try the porridge - its great - actually, so are the muffins and eggs, - and the salmon - and the full English and the coffee - they even get the toast right!
The spa is very good. It is small but there is a hot tub, warm pool (not really big enough to swim in) a sauna, steam room , laconium and various showers. They also let you wander around the hotel in your bathrobes.
This is a good hotel which is not pretentious in any way. I would have no hesitation in recomending it to friends.

Bannatyne's Charlton House is just about as far away from the stuffy, uptight country house hotel of old as you can get …More
it was great when we drove to the hotel and saw this huge peaceful natural vegetation. We couldn't wait to get changed and explore the surroundings.
My kids loved it especially walking around the beautiful lake.
Very good .
