“Really nice stay!!”
Very nice decor, their spa facilities are top grade!
“Nice hotel, would return”
They give you a warm cookie upon check in, nice touch! Modern, chic, clean rooms, nice away from the city location, set in lovely grounds. Did not get a chance to use the leisure facilities on this visit.
“2011 England Wales trip”
Very nice hotel, Restaurant Excellent, onion rings are to die for. 10/10 for service.
“Mixed feelings”
This was our 2nd stay and still I'm not sure if I am completely happy withthis hotel. On our 1st stay we met reception staff who gave us wrong directions to the dining room. We weren't told when we booked, that the restaurant was closed and we'd have to walk down the drive to the sports club to have an evening meal. The music played by the band at the wedding could be heared in our room even with the windows closed. The band finished at 11pm and the disco started but we didn't hear it. On our 2nd visit we were met by a polite and pleasent robot receptionist. Our room at the back of the hotel and on the top floor was small and dark. The decor was superb but with a small window and a view of trees it would be better to have a light decor. I wouldn't want to stay for more than one night in one of the rooms at the back.
“Izzysmom”
Not really suitable for young kids, glass tables with corners at child chest height. Plug sockets unprotected within easy reach. We were not far from the kitchens and could still hear the clattering of dishes well past midnight. The cups for coffee making were badly stained and pips in the kettle!! Our bath had a 1 inch gap where the overflow didnt fit properly! Restaurant was of mixed opinion, bread dried up as if it had been cut several hours earlier and left uncovered until needed, the waiter rushed off before we had finished speaking but the actual meal was delicious. The restaurant seats looked grubby and at breakfast again we had the stained cups issue!! 4 checks before i got a clean one and the breakfast was dried up and not very warm. Staff generally lovely, especially reception and leisure staff. Very disappointed for the price. Id have been better off in a premier inn!
“Nice quiet country location, far from the madding crowd”
We used this hotel as a base for local sightseeing. The staff were attentive, welcoming and warm throughout our stay. The facilities were good, as was the food and drink. The situation was quiet, but it was a little far away from the city, however it was peaceful and the bellringers practising at the local church added to the country house feel. Having to use the fold out bed for our accompanying child made the room slightly cramped, but for two it would have been spacious. All in all, a good experience and we would stay there again.
“A little hard to find, but excellent!”
Once we managed to find the hotel - I would highly recommend using a GPS!!! - the site and the service were lovely and restful. The staff, however, was not very helpful with local information, whether from lack of interest of inability. Beautiful location for a totally independent traveler!
“Very enjoyable and relaxing”
We stayed here for a family night away and really enjoyed the hotel, the staff were very good and the Marco PW restaurant is very good definately worth the money as its not cheap!!
“Met our needs”
An excellent hotel in a rural location for recovering from a long flight from Australia. Ideal for exploring the south west and Sommerset. Business centre gave excellent access to web and print out of travel research material. High class gym available.
“hotel in a lovely setting and very convenient for the M5”
This hotel was in a lovely setting and would be great for a wedding or reception. The staff were very welcoming, pleasant and friendly. We only stayed for one night on the way to Cornwall but the location was very convenient for the motorway and was a good place to break the journey.
