Amazing and unexpected welcoming of fresh fruit and dates with chocolate. That was very thoughtful for a traveler arriving at midnight. Extremely clean room with top notch accessories.

Quality hotel as expected from IHG group. Very good value for the rate charged. Great layover if you are on your way to UAE. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

One of the best in Sohar
Loved this hotel. Large room. Good views. Although on a main road but windows sound isolated. Clean. Food is very good with excellent variety. Had more than one restaurant so plenty of choice. Reception staff were very welcoming. Thank you.

Family trip for Christmas
The front desk staff were so kind and did not doubt to provide complimentary early check in when they saw our two small kids. Cleanliness of the whole facilities was good. The hotel was offering different amenities during the Christmas season with lot of tourists and local attending them. Gym and pool (temperature controlled) are nice. Breakfast buffet also counts with live station for eggs and pancakes.

The hotel was fantastic. The only negative point is that it is away from the city. There are no restonear by and you need a car to go anywhere from the hotel.

Good place to stay at Sohar
Most things were good except for the experience on arrival. The bellboy was not in sight. He just decided to stay away when we arrived. Guests will have to mind their luggage. Expected better from Crowne Plaza. Other services were excellent, food, F&B staff, pool area and sauna, gym staff were very courteous and friendly. Exit signboards towards Muscat missing. One may get lost or reach Buraimi if not careful. Please do something.

I stayed for an event in the hotel. There's not much to do in the area. Overall the hotel isn't bad. It's a bit tired but excellent staff who really make you feel welcome

Nice hotel in a fast developing town
Crowne Plaza Sohar is in a nice part of the fast developing Sohar town. Lots of highway construction close to the hotel and it is easy to get lost trying to find the hotel. The hotel itself has a nice quaint look, which I imagine is representative of Omani architecture. The patio and lobby are welcoming and the lobby is tastefully done without much bling.

Hidden gem as a base for exploring the area.
Wonderful weekend stay to escape Muscat and explore a different area. New steak restaurant is fabulous. However the ambience could be looked at. May be small screening to give some intermacy. Pool great. Room was great, however beware the beds are very uncomfortable. Everytime my husband turned i was bounced around. So if you are after a restful sleep then i recommend single beds! Buffet breakfast was very good. We will definately stay again at this location if we can sort the bed situation. Make sure you check the hotel location before you leave as you could easily miss the exit to it. It is outside Sohar by some distance on the Burami road. (wadi Jizi road)

Wonderful - when you find it!
This hotel is beautiful, lovely spacious rooms, great service and delicious breakfast. Everything you could want in a hotel. However, it took us two hours to find the hotel. It didn't show on our GPS, there were no sign posts to the hotel and as it is set in the middle of a reserve there aren't any landmarks close by. In the end we managed to find someone that knew the hotel and we got there. We would advise everyone to get co-ordinaries for the hotel before heading there.

Tranquil Oasis
A convenient and easy drive from the UAE and ideal if you just want to get away from it all for a weekend. The staff (and the locals) are so friendly and helpful. The hotel did not seem busy despite hosting a local wedding and the entire experience was seamless, pleasant and relaxing.

Very comfortable hotel for people passing true
New, very comfortable hotel with a (surprisingly!) good restaurant, nice pool and spacious, stylish rooms in a still relatively unexplored part of Oman. If you are going to Sohar, this is the place to stay, although it is about 10km from the town itself.
