Grandeur hotel in very convenient location
It is in the amazing location, in front of a park. In several minutes, you can walk to the cathedral, parliament, the University of Sofia (one block) and many cafes and restaurants. The hotel has the traditional value of a great hotel. Staff are properly attired. Furniture is solid wood. Brass handles in the washroom are all well polished shiny.

Helpful receptions and very central to all places of interests. It’s only 5 minutes walk to Alexander cathedral and 10 minutes away from the buzzing Alexander Boulevard. The hotel is a bit dated and they charged for everything including water bottles. The bar could not offer all the alcoholic drinks offered on their drink menu. However, there are other bars very close by.

Warning: please message to the hotel. They should be aware of booking the taxi for their customers. Should select quality drivers that will not treat the customers with extra mileage for the extra fees. We were driven to a wrong hotel that the driver insisted he was right even though we showed him on the map and the correct address.

My trip was amazing! Everything the hotel offers: perfect location, very clean, new interior and facilities, outstanding service in all details, very friendly staff, luxury car transportation from/to the airport, a fitness facility, underground garage, bunch of excellent bars and restaurants around 3 to 8 minutes away (I would mention Grozd, Shtastlivetza, Chef's Live, Arbat). It is located in 5 - 10 minutes walk from the main touristic, historic, architectural and administrative focal points of the city. A nice garden or park is across the street. Finally, the hotel has an own restaurant with excellent drinks! The hotel is not large, offers good privacy and calm atmosphere: just downtown but quite silent. The Crystal Palace helped me organizing all my busyness trips and meetings, as well as to relax well between these. I regret I was only for five business days there - for sure spending the weekend there would be a good bonus for travelling business people.

I highly recommend this hotel!!
A friend and I have been traveling for over a month in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey and Egypt. Some of our hotels were delightful and others left much to be desired. We didn’t know what to expect at this hotel in Sofia Bulgaria. It was our great pleasure to stay in the Crystal Palace. Our room was spacious, quiet, beautifully decorated, very clean and we noticed the hotel has great attention to details. The breakfast buffet is widely varied and exceptionally good. We ate in the restaurant one evening and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Great hotel in stellar location
I’ve stayed at the Crystal Palace twice and both stays were excellent. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast is very good, and it has one of the best locations in Sofia in a nice neighborhood right across from one of the city’s best parks. It’s also just a few minutes’ walk from the Alexander Nevsky cathedral and the St. Sofia Church.

This is a gem of a hotel in probably the best neighborhood in Sofia. Excellent service and super location. Our room was clean, quiet and well maintained. The hotel is very central, so you can walk to almost all the main sights in downtown Sofia.

I was prepared to write a most amazing review of this aspiring boutique hotel near Sofia center, but was disappointed with a surprise price hike upon check-in, though I had pre-paid through Expedia. The charge was 20 Euro for my wife, though their website confirmed that it is only a 7 Euro for 2nd adult, and even so, Expedia specified a lesser 5 Euro for 2nd adult. This was a non-breakfast reservation, and though we paid for a 2nd adult, we were still only provided a single set of towels & bathrobe. The price that the staff assured me I would pay during check-in, including the 2nd adult extra charge of 7 Euro (as specified on their website), unfortunately, changed back to 20 Euro upon my check out. We were in a rush to catch an early morning 06:00 flight, so paid without going into details again. The same manager and receptionist were still there, and assured us of the ‘politics’ of the situation. We used the hotel room for a total of 7 hours for our Sofia layover, and though it was nice, and the money disputed was not much, the ‘politics’ of the situation were quite disappointing.

Comfortable, very well-located hotel
Quiet and comfortable, this hotel is well-situated for a pleasant stroll through some key attractions (5 minutes) to the main shopping area or beyond (20 minutes +).It's very close to a metro station from the airport, and opposite an extremely pleasant park with integral characterful outdoor cafe. There are plenty of bars and a couple of good restaurants within 3 minutes' walk, and the area, popular with locals, feels very safe. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and spotlessly clean; breakfasts are good, especially if eaten outside on the terrace. Reception staff are functional rather than friendly; they speak good English but are not forthcoming with information, even about the hotel, unless asked a direct question. A request for umbrellas on a thundery day was met with incredulity, but we did get them! We would be very happy to return if in the area again.

Wonderful place with friendly staff and amazingly comfortable bed, In the best possible area of downtown Sofia. Excellent stay until we had our car scratched in the garage. Manager didn’t even bother to call and talk to me but emailed me it wasn’t their fault. I had the car for not more than 4 hours and it didn’t have the hit by then. I had to communicate with the valley guy instead. Very poor management in this case. This would have been the perfect stay for my travels so far but unfortunately this disrespectful problem solving situation left a bad taste in my mouth.
