“Would definiyely stay there again”

Don't be put off by Hotel Brod not being in town centre, it is on a bus route and taxis are cheap. The hotel itself is comfortable and clean but it is the staff who really make the stay enjoyable. I asked where the nearest shop was as I had forgotten toothpaste and the Receptionist gave me a small tube from the hotel. When I checked out at 4.30am, I was offered coffee while waiting for the taxi and when I left I was given a "breakfast bag" to take with me as I was too early for breakfast. To me those are the things that make a hotel special rather than unnecessary luxuries.

“True hospitality”

I have just returned from a 3 night stay at Brod Hotel with my husband and young son, where we learned the true meaning of hospitality. Having unfortunately twisted my ankle while sightseeing, I cannot praise the hotel staff highly enough for their kindness. They did all they could to help us out in a difficult situation - providing ice for my ankle, looking after my son, driving us to and from the hospital and staying with me to act as interpreter. We wouldn't have managed without them and we are very grateful. As for the hotel itself, we had a lovely big room which was well equipped with a separate seating area, TV and desk, and more than enough room for the three of us. Everything was newly decorated, modern and very clean. No tea/coffee making facilities but a well stocked and cheap minibar. The buffet breakfast had a good choice of hot and cold food and the coffee was good. No evening restaurant as it was a quiet time but the staff ordered take away food for us which we ate out on the terrace or in our room. The hotel is about 10-15 mins drive from the airport and about the same distance from the city centre – easy to find being on the main road - and we preferred being in a quieter area, with a good view of the mountains from our window.

“good value, nice spacious rooms”

The location is a little out of the way, but for Sofia is in a nice area on a main road not too far from the airport. Very good value for money - especially if you want to accomodate children as well. Nice spacious rooms and sofa beds for extra guests. Breakfast is included - nothing much, but fills the gap.

“Recommended”

We choose this hotel for its location, which was convenient for the airport (approx 10km). Don't stay here if you want to be close to the city centre. It was clean and the staff were very friendly & could speak good English. It cost 10 lev to the airport. The hotel restaurant was closed for dinner during our stay (14-8-09) due to the hotel being quiet. However there are a few restaurants nearby which is classed as the "student sector"(about 10 min walk). We had a nice meal at the Evergreen restaurant. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the hotel, there was a choice of cooked and/or continental, with cereals, fruit juices, fruit, cold meats & various cheeses. I would recommend this hotel.

“Good value for a capital city”

We were looking for a hotel in Sofia to round off our tour of Bulgaria before returning home but were unhappy at the prospect of having to pay capital city prices for a centrally located hotel. The Brod Hotel is a short distance from the centre but is adequately served by a regular bus service so is a much better option with only a minor inconvenience.

“Close to airport”

Was about 8 lev to airport and we chose it due to location to airport. Was disappointed that hotel would not give us airport transfer as said provided upon booking! It was a Sat and apparently due to less staff they don't always do Sat transfers but this should have been noted on website. Room was older style, small, a bit of street noise but clean and fine for short stay. Staff where friendly and helpful. Not much near hotel except a student town within walking distance with some eating places. Staff did recommend cheap and honest taxi company to airport. They did provide curtesy van to drive us to internet cafe to check into our flight as no computer available at hotel to use.

The hotel could do to supply tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Slight traffic noise due to Hotel been on the main road apart from that a very nice hotel to stay in.

“un peu excentrer”

comme dit dans autres commantaire ,tres propre mais tres fortes odeur de tabac dans couloir comme dans chambre(pourtant zone non fumeur)malgré beaucoups d'interdiction de fumer mis en place dans les pays de l'est ces dernier mois(nous etions en SERBIE)la tapisserie et moquettes retienne ces odeurs,sinon petit dej tres bien, comfort des chambres aussi(manque juste volet ou rideaux occultant)quand au parking hotel vue que nous sommes arriver vers 02h30 du mat( je precise) ont nous a proposer de la mettre au parking et le matin en dejeunant nous voyont notre vehicule dans le chemin d'une maison en ruine,bref pour finir demander a ne pas etre coté boulevard pour etre au calme

“hotel à sofia”

L'hotel est un peu excentré du centre. (10-15-min en taxi) La chambre était propre mais une forte odeur de tabac ainsi que dans les couloirs. Vraiment désagréable. La réception correcte. Le petit déjeuner correcte.
