Hotel Rival is situated in a charming area of Stockholm with a lovely park directly across the street. Great location with many dinning and shopping options. All of the associates were friendly, warm and attentive. The rooms were simplistic and comfy and were set up with everything a traveler could need. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant - the food and service were amazing.
An older once in the country, but now in the city "country house" has been converted very sympathetically into a lovely hotel catering for discerning travelers. Well away from the very noisy night spots - but within walking distance if you want them. Some of the room configurations of an older property mean space is not what it would be in a "modern" hotel but it makes it more interesting, loads of character and very quiet. A short walk up the hill through the park takes you to an amazing vantage point overlooking Stockholm, 3 minutes down the hill takes you past an excellent Italian Restaurant you have to experience and right next to the metro, 3 stops to center of town. Breakfast great - staff very helpful. Would go back.
Stockholm is a city where budget travellers have to accept either no window or no bathroom - and often both. So this with its newly-renovated room AND bathroom was very good for the money even if I was occasionally wondering what time of day it was (still no window). It's not too far from Gamla Stan and although there's nothing much except a McDonalds in the immediate vicinity, it's within striking distance of everything and was a great choice for someone (me) who knew nothing about the city. Thery were still renovating my floor, which was noisy in the daytime, but then they have to do it sometime.
Had a good experience with the hotel. Staff were friendly, wifi worked well and rooms were clean. Rooms however are in need of a serious refurbishment, ours seemed like it was from the 1980s. Breakfast was ok for continental europeans, being british we expected more cooked items as opposed to cold cuts.
Budget hotel in a great location for exploring the city.
Rooms are very small, but clean. The bed was comfortable. The reception is only staffed during office hours. A key code is required to enter the hotel outside this time and to enter your room. A decent self service breakfast is available each morning.
A good base for those wanting to explore the city and have plenty of options within a short walking distance. A Metro station is very close by also. Only thing to be aware of if there is little storage space for clothing. Also the hotel is at basement level, so no views.
This hotel in trendy Sodermalm is comprable to the Omena Hotel, but with a receptionist and a fantastic breakfast. Great place to stay, and while not in the centre of the city, it's a quick walk to two different metro stations. Loved the staff and our quick stopover here.
The Red Boat is linked up to a second, white, boat, as mentioned in other reviews. I went with my Dad, and when they knew we were at the hotel together they kindly moved one of our rooms so we were close to each other. My room had a bunk bed and was not spacious, but on a boat of its size this was not surprising. The room had two porthotes looking over Lake Malaren. My only issue was that the room was quite cold, and the radiator was not working (probably because the heating for the boat was not on, it being June).
The bar area was great, decorated with naval-themed equipment from pressure guages to propellers. The staff were incredibly friendly. The breakfast buffet was very reasonable, including eggs, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, bread and a selection of cheeses and meats.
This is the 2nd Scandic Hotel I’ve stayed in (previously in Berlin). It is well designed and perfect for a short trip. on Friday night there were 3 lively bars with a DJ. The hotel provided an excellent breakfast of hot and cold food. We ate in the restaurant/coffee shop one night and I had the best burger I’ve ever had in my life and they even provided a gluten free bun. I highly rate this hotel which also has a good (free) internet connection which enabled me to work during my stay.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and spoke excellent English.
We dealt often with Martina who was always cheerful and happy to
help. Also the tech savvy young man who went to great lengths to
help us disable a lost iPad. We did not get his name, but his help
and assurances were invaluable.
