Nice hotel

Posted 20-Jul-2015
The hotel was nice and pleasant. The check in could have been better. Staying in a club room I should have been given a wifi code at check in. There was no notice to ask for one and they didn't ask if it was needed. The room had instructions of how to use the cooling or heating system. When it is off it is cold and when it is turned up it is cold even though all doors are closed. So was a very cold night and I developed a cold because of it. The club lounge doesn't work. There should be 24 hour access. But to have to go all the way downstairs to ask about it is a bit inconvenient when the room phone doesn't work. The leisure facilities are nice and clean but the some of the gym equipment could me recovered. Having holes and foam exposed isn't quite what you would expect in a Copthorne. There are no signs with how to exit the car park so you drive up to the exit and have to wait because you were not informed how to exit at check in. If the check in was more informative it would have been a 5* stay. So the front of house let it down. On check out we were not asked about our stay so felt feedback wasn't welcome. So again front of house was a let down. The rooms are comfortable (when adjustable) and clean so I would recommend the hotel. Good close proximity to both town and Windsor. The food from the restaurant fills the foyer no matter what time of day, so if you are sensitive to smells or scents you should be weary of this. Hope this helps.

Pros: Staff very friendly
Cons: On arrival confusing where to go, partly because big Coach parked outside reception.
Location: Easy access from motorway. Requires a right hand turn to exit, but not a problem when I was there. Not sure about rush hour.
Just looking for a comfortable nights sleep - fitted the bill. Didn't have time to try the pool, restaurant etc.

Day at Henley Regatta

Posted 03-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, excellent bus service into Slough and plenty of Taxis for the return journey.
Cons: Nothing,
Location: The location was good for us, but from what we saw of the surrounding area, not very much to do, but there was a bus service into Slough.
We recently stayed 2 nights at the Copthorne Hotel. Slough when visiting Henley Regatta. Our stay was a most enjoyable experience. This was our first visit to this particular Hotel and it will not be our last. Convenient for buses into Slough and the railway station for journeys further afield.

Copthorne Hotel Slough great for Windsor Races

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Location from motorway and close enough to Windsor and Eton.
Cons: Air conditioning in the rooms, external noise (whistling on 6th floor). Early check-in if possible.
Hotel is located just off roundabouts and business park so very handy location. We stayed at the hotel whilst going to Windsor Racecourse. Unable to check-in early but was able to leave belongings with concierge. Staff were very helpful and sandwich from the bar was very nice. Room good size, but we could hear a high pitched whistling noise from about 6.30am onwards. Thought it came from the bathroom, but it would appear it came from the corridor or somewhere outside so was not able to have a lie in. Our room was on the 6th floor. Did not eat breakfast as thought it was expensive. Overall it suited our purpose and would stay again if attending the races. Hotel recommended a taxi company who were also very good.

Good Location Close to Windsor

Posted 21-Jun-2015
Pros: That it was clean and well located
Cons: The lighting in the corridors of the first floor
Hotel was very clean and well located for our purpose - weekend in Windsor. For a 4 star hotel, I think the hotel staff could be more welcoming - they were not rude but they weren't particularly friendly - a smile goes a long way. We stayed on the first floor and noted how dark the corridors were even at 1pm in the afternoon when the sun was shining outside. Also it smelt quite strongly of stale smoke - it would benefit the hotel if this was addressed. We didn't use the swimming pool or sauna but its a real plus that this is free to residents.

Comfortable and spacious

Posted 16-Jun-2015
Pros: Spacious, clean, comfortable.
Cons: Price of the breakfast, too expensive.
Location: Located too far from station.
Hotel catered well to our needs but the location was not suitable as it was too far from the station.

Cons: Not have cleaners try and get into your room at 0800hrs whilst your still in bed. They must know who has checked out before they try and get into room
Location: Legoland 10 minute drive away from hotel.
Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and eager to help.
