A friendly inviting hotel.

Posted 18-Sep-2014
Pros: The staff, location, service and food.
Cons: Can't realistically suggest anything.
Location: It was close to Sittingbourne, we went to Leeds Castle, Whistable and Canterbury Cathedral.
We spent two nights at the hotel and really enjoyed our stay. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the food was beautifully prepared and presented. If we return to Kent for another break we will definitely stay here. Forgot to mention the pool - loved it!

A proper English hotel

Posted 31-Aug-2014
The friendliest, most helpful staff anywhere, and efficient too. Excellent facilities - particularly the swimming pool. Food was excellent, both in the Restaurant and the Brasserie. If you want a good cycle ride try Whitstable to Margate along the Saxon Coast Trail - mostly off-road, and flat!

Lovely Hotel

Posted 15-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
We booked through Hotels.com late as we were driving to Kent for a christening. The room we booked turned out to be the last one available and next to where a wedding reception was taking place until late. The hotel contacted us the morning after booking to let us know the situation and if another room became available they would let us know. This happened the next day and we upgraded to a lovely room. We had dinner in the restaurant which was also excellent and had a mini spa in the afternoon. It certainly seems to be a hotel where you have many options of things to do. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

It is what it is

Posted 12-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
The weather was warm and with no aircon we were glad of the fan although noisy. The meal was nothing special , the service left a little bit to be desired and we were told off at breakfast for arriving bang on 9 o'clock , apparently weekdays 7 till 9 is breakfast. The free use of the pool and gym makes up for the dated style of the hotel.

No lift

Posted 14-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay but it was unfortunate that we were on the second floor and there was no lift. We were not warned of this beforehand. This was difficult for my husband who has co-ordination problems after a stroke and an arthritic knee. Our only other problem was that the duvet was far to warm and there were no blankets left in the room. Apart from that, we appreciated the pool and spa, the staff were lovely and the whole place was clean and welcoming.

A great bank holiday stay

We stopped here for two nights over the May bank holiday. The hotel was lovely and perfectly located for our days out in Canterbury, Whitstable & lydden. The room was very spacious and well equipped.
