This hotel was charming and in a wonderful, convenient location. A great little beach, pool, and pier for suntanning and looks out onto the marina. Marie at the pool bar is fabulous. Would go back, this hotel is a gem.
"Wonderful hotel close to the beach and fine dining"
This was a vacation for our 25th wedding anniversary - my wife and I wanted a very special time together and our expectations were far exceeded. The Alamanda was wonderful. The check in went very smooth. The breakfast in the morning was fresh and delicious. The staff was excellent. The room was very good - comfortable bed, clean, very nice size. The balcony was furnished and an excellent place to relax.
Fine dining was a 2 minute walk away. We ate at 2 of the restaurants - Cote Plages and Le P'tit Bistro. The food was excellent at both. The foie gras at Le P'tit Bistro was incredibly delicious!
The Orient Beach was also a minute walk away. The sand, surf, and water were the most beautiful we have ever seen. The time we spent on the beach together (about 6 hours each day) was awesome! The beach front had restaurants that served lunch and drinks all day. We ate lunch at Andy and Cheryl's. It was very good.
My wife got a pina colada at Kontiki - it was superb!
The atmosphere at the Orient Beach was completely relaxed and chill. People were cool and friendly. Totally hassle free!
The prices for beer, drinks, and food at the Orient Beach restaurants and bars were reasonable.
The vacation was like having the best of France and the Caribbean in one place - a paradise of sensual pleasures and an excellent way for a couple to celebrate their marriage!

The hotel is well situated, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the beach is walking distance away, so is the Blue Mall. There is some need of renovation but this does not affect the overall satisfaction of the stay.
We stayed at marina view end unit 15. Spacious! You get 2 BR and 2 floors (21 steps up), private patios overlooking marina on both floors. We enjoyed the patio views and visitors (birds, iguanas). Gated parking, though tight. Five restaurants and pizza place a short walk. Dawn Beach is a short walk thru Mr. Busby's Beach Bar. We rented two beach chairs and umbrella combo for $12/day. The shore during our stay was piled with seaweed, and much also was suspended in the water. We could still get in for a swim in areas relatively weed-free. Though snorkeling can be done, the surf was too rough for us to try it. We did visit Islet Pinel and took Aqua Mania trips to Shoal Bay, Anguilla, and to Saba; these were enjoyable and worthwhile. You need a car (or hire a taxi) as there's no hotel pick-up. We also toured Philipsburg and Marigot; other than looking for beaches or restaurants, there didn't seem to be much outside of the capitals.
Let me start by saying we arrived moments after a massive storm hit the Island which caused complete ciaos. Getting to the French side was extremely challenging due to rental car companies' lies, mud and large pools of water on the roads. With that being said, when we arrived at the Grand Case Beach Club, our vacation started to fall into place. Our room was ready, check in was relatively easy and our duplex room was exceptional. The views from the balconies were amazing. Each of the two bedrooms were like being in your own home with large screen TVs, over a hundred channels, large bathrooms, and downstairs LR & Kitchen. The beach is ok but the water is awesome. The staff at the beach cannot get any better. Plenty of water stuff to do. Staff and the food at the hotel restaurant are equally as good. The cleanup after the storm took a few days but once completed, the beauty of the resort really showed. The only negative thing we found which got frustrating at times was dealing with the beach towels. They were only exchangeable once per day but were never ready when we needed them.
