“Good Hotel in Singapore”

Stayed in a Grand Room and it was worth the extra. It was on a corner and had great views on two sides. The room was large and comfortable but the furniture was dated and worn. The bathroom was quite small but clean. The Grand room was supposed to have a King bed but the one I got didnt have that. The bed in that room was hard and small (small sized Queen). When I mentioned it to the reception staff they just said I should have taken a lower room where they do have King sized beds (they didn't tell me that before). And why should the high rooms have smaller beds? The "Guest Services" people in the lobby are not helpful nor friendly and are masters of avoidance. You have to find things out for yourself. Overall I would stay in the hotel again for the location and views but it certainly could do with some improvements

“Not impressed. Deteriated considerably in the last several years.”

The hotel has degraded since I first went there several years ago. It is not worth the cost. Room make up was poor and communication with front desk was bad. Service has fallen apart. It is far from a 4 star hotel. Rooms are old and need major repairing. Internet service was deplorable for the cost per day; often one would wait for minutes. Below standard for the cost. Front desk has a problem with communication and not service orientated.

Getting around
The MRT is excellent. It gets you to places rapidly especially during rush time morning and after 4 pm in the evening rush.

“Just Loved it!!!”

I arrived at 9pm after a long flight, the welcome was warm, the check-in, efficient and the room amazing! Í guess there was a degree of luck that I was on the 63rd floor overlooking Marina Bay, but it was stunning!! Throughout my stay ALL the staff were pleasant and friendly. The hotel is in a central location, well served with taxis and MRT, but many of the iconic places to visit in the city are withing walking distance. Champagne Brunch in the Equinox was memorable and resonably priced. And finally, I easily extended my check out to 4pm on my day of departure.

“Free WiFi Dispute”

Expedia says the Internet is included in the price but the hotels says no, and they asked for proof from Expedia. I don't recall Expedia would have all amenities printed in the booking confirmation message. This will become an issue because the hotel will charge an arm and leg for the Internet access.

“Wonderful stopover”

We stayed in Singapore for just 2 days -1 night to break the trip home to Australia from Europe. From the firendly greeting and quick check-in to our late check-out everything was great. Drinks on the 70th floor provided a remarkable view of SIngapore. Wish we had styed longer!

“Great business hotel”

Stayed at this hotel during a two day business trip. Perfect location for access to all main business areas. When not working there was plenty to see and do within 5mins and most of it connected to the hotel (2 x shopping malls and food courts etc. Great spa with both steam room and sauna, perfect for a great start to the day. Will stay here again next month! Great nightclub in the hotel up on Level 70.

Area recommendations
Right across the street there is Chijmes and great spot to eat and enjoy down time. two clubs with live music from 9pm and a safe positive atmosphere.

“So very convenient!”

the location is brilliant. so many good eating places in Raffles City underneath the hotel. Short walk to City Hall MRT - all undercover. had a brilliant view from our room on 42nd floor. Staff were extremely helpful.

Area recommendations
City Hall area - can walk to river and so many places - Raffles Hotel.
What to pack
a pashmina/shawl is essential. Lightweight to have in your bag as the trains and some restaurants have cold air-conditioning.

“Great Hotel!”

We stayed at the Swissotel in Singapore a couple of weeks ago. We stayed on the 37 th floor and had a magnificent view of Singapore River and the skyline of Singapore. The hotel has wonderful ammenities including beautiful swimming pool, tennis courts etc. It is also located within a shopping complex so there is plenty of areas to eat if you don't want to eat in the hotel as the prices are fairly expensive. It is a short walk to Clarke Quay from the hotel, but slightly longer walk if you want to go to Orchard Road. In fact you will probably need to get a taxi and this can sometimes be a time consuming experience as there appears to be shortage of taxis in Singapore. It is not uncommon to wait half an hour or more for a taxi, There is wireless internet in the room, but they charge for using it. The quality of the rooms is very good, they are beautifully maintained and staff are very attentive coming past your room a number of times a day to keep it tidy or to give you complimentary bottles of water. We booked with the hotel transfers to and from the airport and these were all efficiently handled.

Area recommendations
The Singapore Zoo it an essential! It is great! The Botanic Gardens with its extensive orchard garden is also an essential must see! Clarke Quay with its huge array or restaruants is also worth at least one visit as is the boat trip on the Singapore River. The Marina Bay Sands is also worth a visit and you can go up in the lift to the viewing platform. Of course you need to go to Raffles for a Sinagpore Sling!

“All Good in Singapore”

The location and staff were perfect. Great pool area with bar and happy hours daily. Our room was clean and well stocked. Daily refreshing of shampoo etc if needed. The only negative was there was not wireless included in expedia cost. By now I just expect it to be part of the hotel stay. Otherwise, we found the subway easy to navigate, the people helpful and the overall trip was wonderful. Would recommend.
