“Spacious, attractive, room just affordable, food and drink costs very high”

I chose the hotel for two reasons: I had wanted to stay there for over 30 years and this was our chance and also I could get a room which did not involve using a lift - we had a ground floor room with a balcony, Retired Australians, we spent three nights on a weekend package which included some reduction (around 50%) on breakfast so we ate a hearty and tasty breakfast each day. Breakfast saw us through till dinner which was a good thing because eating and drinking in Singapore is no longer cheap. We loved the room which was very comfortable and spacious but no free internet and internet connection is not wireless. Luggage is not under your feet the whole time and the bathroom is large although the shower is over the bath which we find awkward. There is a small round table and two very upright chairs - suitable for sitting at the table but hopeless for lounging in. Light control panel is only on one side of the bed and the bedside lights were inadequate: not strong enough for reading and couldn't be switched on and off easily. Location is up the north western end of Orchard Rd which was good for Orchard Rd shopping and we walked easily to the National Botanic Gardens from there. All in all, we would happily stay there again if we could afford it.

“Great location”

Hotel was in a great location just a short walk to Orchard St and the staff were excellent. The only minor issue was our room had a very slight musty/damp smell - possibly just needed a good airing after not being used for a few days or maybe that's normal in Singapore due to the humidity.

“A fabulous old hotel with modern comfort”

My husband, mother and I stayed at Goodwood Park Hotel for a couple of nights on our way to Europe. We liked it so much , we returned to stay there on the way back to Australia. My mother had stayed at Goodwood Park 58 years ago and really enjoyed her return stay. She had a long chat with one of the staff who had been there over 40 years.. We loved the local afternoon tea buffet. Staying at Goodwood Park was far more enjoyable than staying at one of the many multi-storey hotels in Singapore. It is a lovely old calm oasis in a very busy city. We will definitely return.

I picked this hotel purely based on Expedia reviews (after looking at about 50 hotels!) and I'm so glad I did. The location is fantastic - just that little bit off Orchard Road makes a big difference and the Far East Plaza is very close for supplies. In general the staff were fantastic, especially the front desk and room staff, the only place the service wasn't quite as good was the coffee shop where it was sometimes a bit slow and a few mix up with meals......only minor though and didn't detract from the hotel for me at all. Food is very reasonably priced with room service and in the coffee shop but drinks are very expensive e.g. $8 for a coke, $6 for a coffee. This is pretty in line with everywhere we went so just be aware. All in all this is a beautiful hotel, our room was much bigger and nicer than we expected, I would highly reccomend it...and I'm a hard marker!

“A reminder of the 'old' Singapore”

This is a great hotel to stay in for those who don't want to stay in one of the high-rise hotels. Location is good, rooms are spacious, beds comfortable. The on-site restaurants serve good food (both in terms of variety and quality), and the breakfast buffet is excellent. Having coffee/tea making facilities in the room is great. Only two criticisms: the standard coffee served at breakfast is terrible (hint: order a capuccino!), and there is no free internet access.

“Good location in Singapore”

Excellent location at the corner of Scotts Road and Orchard. Good wood Park is a low rise hotel in a sea of high rise. Rooms are large and ours overlooked the large outdoor swimming pool.

“Great Location”

Very close to Orchard Road and subway. Very clean and staff very accomodating. Would definately stay there again. The only drawback was the food at the hotel was ridiculously expensive. Thank goodness there were plently of restaurants and coffee shops close by.

Wonderful hotel, this one of the oldest in Singapore, has a great character, excellent staff and so close to everything, hotel rooms are very spacious, lovely pools and great food available - will definately come back again
