“Good location but poorly maintained”

The riverfront offers a good place to meet friends. The hotel interiors ESP on the guest room floors were very poor, old and faded carpets and a weird smell, combination of cigarette smoke and bleach that permeated more than one guest floor. Hotel room was clean (thankfully no smell) although the bed spreads appeared old. Restaurant and lounge floors were excellent.

“Nice hotel - hard beds”

Service was excellent - cannot be faulted. Wonderful singers each night in the Waterfall Lounge - Fantastic! As for the hotel, although the hotel is a little dated, it was still very nice. The beds were hard to sleep on, even the rollaway bed that we got for the extra person. The hotel was a little out of the way but with the taxis so cheap and so easily available, this was not really a problem at all. However, we all said that we would probably try a hotel a little closer to Marina Square or Orchard Road next time.

Family-friendly activities

I would definitely recommend going to the Night Safari and the Songs of the Sea show at Sentosa. Very good.

“Not great but did the job.”

Despite being on a non-smoking floor the room, and entire floor, smelled of cigarette smoke. The room was freezing; adjusting the thermostat did not help. The area wasn't fantastic - 15 minute walk to the MRT and not a whole lot around other than more hotels. Did the job for a place to stay overnight. Late (4pm) checkout allowed me to get some more work completed in my own room.

“good value”

We arrived @ 9:30am and were able to have breakfast while waiting for our room to become available. We received excellent service and were able to access our room @ 11am. Room very clean and tidy. Hard kingsize bed.

Area recommendations

passing through from london to perth. SIA bus travelled by front door which allowed easy orientation to city.

“bad location...good hotel”

the hotel is a bit old but is still comfortable......but it is out of the way from the usual busy spots in Singapore....otherthan the KTV next door there is nothing to do.......

“Excellent secvice, design a bit odd.”

Stayed at the Furama for 9 nights, after initially booking for 5. Ihad to extend my stay twice and was advised by the hotel to book via Expedia to get the better price. They were right. Once booked, I went to the reception and arranged to stay in same room and have continuity as if I'd originally booked for the duration. Hotel staff gave good advice to save me money and made this very easy to do. The main point I want to make about the Furama is regarding the Executive Club rooms. Only a small difference in price but the benefits far outweighed the additional cost. Main extras included in Exec is:-1. Late check-out of 16:00 hrs free, 2. Free breakfast buffet (excellent choice, plentiful and good quality), 3. Top 3 floor rooms with good view, 4. Free internet (wired in room & Wifi in rest of hotel.. usually £8 per day) & 5. Free drinks and snacks in Exec club between 6 & 8 pm every day. I can't say how good this was. The snacks were plentiful and quality. Different menu each night but included Dim Dum, Satays, Noodles, Cakes, Sushi, Soups, etc, etc. All unlimited. If really on a budget there was plenty enough to be your evening meal. Drinks unlimited and unrestricted. The staff just kept offering. Even if you still had a full drink, they'd be round offering another. Getting Exec club is financially genius and I would recommend to anyone. I mention 'Odd' room in the title. Bathroom/Toilet/Shower is only separated from room by a glass panel. Odd if sharing with someone.

Area recommendations

Clark Quay just 10 minute sroll along the river. Boat Quay a further 5 mins. Chinatown just a short 15 minute walk.

“Good service”

The hotel is not new but clean and and generally in good condition. Some attention needed to plumbing, but otherwise quite comfortable. The room is pretty good size for a Singapore hotel. Generally I think most hotels in Singapore have smallish rooms and are expensive compared with the rest of South East Asia. This one is more reasonable than most, but still the same. Service was very good and very friendly.

“GOOD VALUE HOTEL”

Hotel located in Havelock Road not really close to anything. Need to travel by very cheap taxi to Orchard Road and other places of interest. Hotel is well run, very attentive staff in all areas. Very clean would recommend the club floors and club lounge access. Level 5 has shower facilities for the late flights ex Singapore if day use option note taken.

MARINA BAY AREA MAIN FOCUS AREA OF THE CITY. ANY HOTEL IN THIS PART OF SINGAPORE EITHER STAYING AT THE MARINA SANDS OR THE HOTELS LOCATED ACROSS THE BAY.

TAXI COSTS ARE VERY REASONABLE EXCELLENT SERVICE.
