“Sinpaore Airport Hotels”
excellent, will stay again.
“Lovely but with a few kinks”
Overall we were happy with the hotel. The staff were lovely & very helpful. We upgraded to an Executive room and whilst it was very clean, comfortable, large and well decorated there were a few niggles. Our bathroom door didn't close and kept jamming. The wardrobe had a light which was supposed to turn off as soon as the door was shut, however it didn't ... eventually we had to stuff tissues into the door until the sensor turned off. The bath was large and deep but the switch which you turned to fill the bath up or use the shower head was broken - I had to sit holding the switch down as I filled up the bath. The location is near the airport, so if stopping off for a night to break a long journey, it's perfect. However, if you want to spend a couple of nights in Singapore - choose a hotel in the city centre so you can see the sights easily (it's an hour into the centre).
“Okay hotel, so far away”
This hotel is too far away from everything. If you can put up with a long wait there is a shuttle to the airport which you can use the MRT to get around, but it's a pain. Even though it appears close to the Airport, it's still quite a long trip, catch the shuttle if you don't want an expensive cab ride (almost cheaper to go into town!). Doesn't have a concierge so they can't help you with things to do, specially annoying if this is your first time in Singapore. Otherwise the hotel is okay, sheets are clean, the air conditioning is very cold (a must in Singapore) and the bathroom nice.
“Over priced "big box" hotel”
Right from the free airport shuttle which only comes once an hour, it is clear that you won't get any personalized attention here. Staff is polite but generally uninterested and the hotel is clean but spartan. Allegedly close to the airport, it is still a 20+ minute taxi ride away. There have to be better places to spend a lay over in Singapore.
“Great hotel but package as advertised is not provided”
I have been to the hotel before, love its location & the rooftop pool. My one concern is the way they presented a "new" package on arrival for a single executive room. They allowed an early check in (which was great since I was tired). They handed me a printout with new (shorter) lounge snack offerings (1800 to 2000h), two complimentary laundry items (non-accumulating) which I was barely able to do since laundry was leaving the hotel as I arrived (prior to 11am), and complimentary local calls. What I did not find out until I inquired later is: no welcome fruit basket was offered, complimentary items from the minibar were now all charged (but still mostly free in the executive lounge), and the Saltwater Cafe breakfast was withdrawn and the executive lounge breakfast offered in its place. I was told management changed but the "contract" with Expedia had not been updated. I asked for clarification about the timing of these changes (since my booking was a recent one), the answer was a vague "earlier this year". I would (& will not) book the executive floor package because I found the lounge annoyingly cold. I spoke to the attendant when she came over to my table to ask if everything was OK. "Well yes, but it is really cold in here." "Sorry I can't do anything about that." I found it so uncomfortably cold for the evening cocktail. I finally spoke to the front desk again when my breakfast at the Saltwater Cafe was not honored . Don't advertise a package & amend it on check-in.
“Great stopover hotel”
Only 20 minutes from the airport, S$15 by taxi or free if you pick up the courtesy bus. We used the courtesy bus to take us to Terminal 2 where you can pick up the MRT to take you anywhere you want to go. Get the Singapore Tourist Pass for S$8 and it gives you unlimited travel on the MRT for the day. The hotel has everything you need with restaurants, two pools and a gym. Breakfast was good. Staff very helpful and friendly. This hotel is a great place to stay for a few days but for longer stays I would look for a hotel nearer the centre of the city.
“last resort”
The hotel is not particulalrly close to the airport compared to other singapore hotels, as noted by other reviewers. It is a 15-20 minute taxi ride, only 5-10 mins shorter than central hotels. Rooms were shabby, grubby and I was very happy to leave early in the morning.
“all good”
Well location near airport
“business travel”
The Changi Village Hotel is a place I stay as I have business around the airport and travel from the hotel is easy. The Hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable . My recent stay I was upgraded to a suite which was nice but the room could do with an upgrade as their were signs of age in the fittings . the breakfast area I was given on the 6th floor was not great and I would have been better served by using the ground floor breakfast area as it has much more on offer . the rates for staying was high and when you include meals its not cheap . even after you currency convert to AUD. staff are fantastic so no issues with their service .
“Excellent hideaway near the airport”
Thanks to Expedia, I found a great place to stay near Changi International Airport. Excellent hotel surrounded by many restaurants and a gold course. It takes 15 minutes only fro the airport and they have a shuttle bus service. When I have to be at the airport at 4am in the morning, this hotel is much better than other hotels in the central Singapore. There are many restaurants in a walking distance and they are actually really good. My room was clean and fresh. For my next trip to Singapore, I will defenitely stay at this hotel again.
