“Duncan”

Location is close to bus stops, Hop on Hop Off Stop and 2 MRTs. Within walking distance to Burgis Street Markets and Fort Canning. Staff very helpful and have a good knowledge of Singapore. Room [Level 8] well maintained, spacious and clean. Would stay at Bayview again very friendly, good value for money helpful staff and good location. Linen [towells] thin and due for replacement. Breakfast was OK not a lot of choice for fruit and selection a little limited. Could walk to the GP gates 3 or 4 closest.

Getting around

Cabs are still relatively cheap and the drivers friendly and knowledgeable. Otherwise buses are every 15- 20 mins or try the extensiive MRT.

Must see

Go to the Grand Prix for the experience and very well organised. Book your tickets and accommodation early. Shopping along Orchard Road is still a buzz and make a vist to Burgis Street Markets in the morning. The Singapore Flyer gives a great view of the city and well worth the 30 minite ride. Don't miss going to Raffles Hotel and having a Singapore Sling or Tiger beer at the Long Bar.

Shopping

Orchard Road is still exciting for shopping. We found OG and Tangs Department Stores good value for shoes, bags and some clothes. Vist Marina Sands just for the WOW factor and shear opulence of the place. Nice views of the city and river at night from the Esplanade around Marina Sands.

“Satisfied Clients”

We requested an early check-in, this was organised at the earliest the staff could arrange. The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. If we return to Singapore then we would have no hesitation in staying at Bayview Hotel, Singapore again. The location was very good.

“Nothing too fancy, but they look after the guests.”

The most impressive thing to me was they were quick to help me with any problem...like getting me a plug adapter for my computer and battery charger, giving directions. Very very efficient. I arrived at 6 in the morning and was worried that I would have to wait around until check in time at 2pm....They had me in a room before 8am that morning! Though nothing fancy at all, the rooms are very clean, internet works beautifully. I was very satisfied.

Area recommendations

Eat at the food court near the hotel. Great and inexpensive food.

“Location good, service really good, a few maintenance issues”

Bay view is in a good location. The staff were very helpful and we enjoyed our visit. There were a couple of small maintenance issues which need attention (taps in bathroom, handrail in shower falling off and panel on side of bath came off) An enjoyable place to stay

“Good location, cheap price and mostly excellent!”

We booked this hotel as part of our honeymoon trip- we knew we weren't expecting high luxury, but were pleased with the facilities considering the price we paid. Everything was clean- the pool was superb. The staff were helpful, polite and very friendly. Breakfast was large and varied, with local food to try. The location was brilliant and we walked everywhere (we are quite fit), there are loads of places to eat nearby. We did the tourist thing and had a singapore sling at Raffles Hotel- a close walk away. Only (very minor) thing was a couple of fittings in the bathroom a bit faulty (eg had to pull fixed plug out of bath to drain it) and wallpaper a bit tatty- neither which effected our stay. We will stay there next time we are in Singapore.

“Well satisfied”

Convenient location with easy access to Singapore's efficient metro (MRT) system via Bras Basah station just round the corner. Good clean rooms with free internet access and a good breakfast buffet included. I was leaving on a late evening flight but after checking out in the morning and leaving my bags there I was able to return to the hotel in the early evening after a day sightseeing and was given access to a shower beside the rooftop pool.

“Looking forward to going back”

I would recommend the Bay View Hotel to travellers. The hotel is very conveniently located to public transport. There are two bus stops literally on the doorstep, a taxi stand outside the hotel and the Bras Basah MRT Circle Line around the corner from the hotel. The hotel room was clean and the breakfast buffet was bountiful.

Carry your passport around with you if you intend going to Resorts World and Marina Bay Sands Casinos as you won't be allowed in otherwise -- not even with your driver's licence or any other form of ID.

“Singapore on a budget”

Having previously stayed at the Stamford, Conrad, and Hilton, the Bayview is a step down. However, I was on a budget, and this saved me a hundred dollars per night compared to a top hotel and it met my criteria of location with inclusive breakfast and WiFi. I would stay there again when on a budget.
