“Great service no matter what time of day/night.”

Friend was coming in after midnight and I was already checked in. The hotel left me the room key so that the friend could sleep that first night without having signed in with a credit card on file. Continental breakfast very nice too.

Excellent experience! The room was lovely and clean. The manager was very personable and helpful! My daughter and I stayed in the room with the two king beds and we were charmed. It was a college visit and it gave us a wonderful homebase for our tour!

Beautifully kept neighborhood, building, room, furnishings, decor, public areas, etc, etc. No faults here. Needed a place to stay overnight while visiting relatives in New Hartford, CT. Pristine. The breakfast was continental. Nice display of breads, bagels, pastries, fruit, yogurt, ceral, juices, coffee, tea. Great price for this area, through Expedia. Definitely will stay here again next year when we return to the area.

“A Step Back in Time!”

Delightful century building, still has the 1820 charm and decor, but with all of the modern conveniances. The King Size canopy bed was beautiful and comfortable!

“Full of charm”

The staff was very friendly. It felt more like a bed and breakfast. The owner had two little guys and my two year old son loved going to see the doggies. The owner was very good with my son and didn't seem bothered. Simsbury is very charming and so was this hotel and it's history.

The Simsbury 1820 House lives up to it's name. We booked this for family visiting from out of state. From the moment we stepped onto the beautiful hardwood porch to check-in we were wrapped in 19th Century Luxury and Charm. The main house is as well kept as a museum and even the carraige house rooms maintain an Old New England aristcratic elegance. This is a great Inn at a value price!

“CT retreat”

We had a wonderful stay. Bed was unbelievably comfortable and shower was fantastic. The facility is somewhat weathered, but very clean despite the occasional cracks and peeled wallpaper corners. The decor and house itself are beautiful...and there are obvious efforts being made to preserve and restore it. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Continental breakfast spread was impressive, especially for such a small inn. Location is great--you can walk to any of Simsbury's quaint restaurants and shops or it's just a short 15-20 minute very scenic drive to Hartford or West Hartford or other surrounding towns. We initially had reservations for a hotel in Hartford, but wanted something cozier, quieter, more relaxing, and found a great retreat with the best of both worlds at the Simsbury 1820 House.

High standard of accomodation throughout the hotel,calm ,relaxing atmosphere,excellent continental breakfast some of which was freshly baked. The bedroom had a four poster bed and high quality antique furnishings.The bed matress was sleep inducing!
