“Great if you are driving”
Wonderful garden and views of the town
“Would stay again!”
Very nice breakfast room and breakfast with a great dining staff. The room it self was small, but it did have a nice size, light colored bathroom., plenty of towels and hot water. The reception staff seemed a little snobish but were helpful. You can catch bus # 6 right outside of the hotel to go into the walled city and can buy the bus tickets right at the hotel. You can also catch bus # 10 if you leave the hotel walking thru the garden. That bus can be caught in front of the Vodophone store and does have a better schedule. This is very convenient! The housekeeping staff is VERY nice! There is free parking but there IS a charge for internet access. We would stay here again.
“hotel garden”
We were under the inpression this hotel was "just outside the walls of the city" and it was not. we had expected to be able to walk into the city each night for dinner and we could not. driving and parking around the city center is a nightmare. That being said the hotel is really very nice. The terraces are lovely, with a great view. The bar and bartender make every evening a party, free apps, great drinks, and awesome music. We found our niche in parking and eating area, ate with the locals, and had awesome food! particularly recommend enzo's and a place calle giusti.Would go back, nice breakfast too!
“Perfect Siena Hotel”
Absolutely loved the Garden Hotel! Was a bit over a mile walk from hotel to entrance to walled city. It was a safe walk! The hotel staff, especially waiter/bartender Atlas, was great! The room in the main hotel was quiet and comfortable. And the breakfast buffet was the BEST and you could eat either insider or outside. There was also a nice bar with outside area also. And the hotel restaurant for dinner at night was very good also. By booking on Expedia by pre-paying with no cancellation possible we saved money and it was worth it! Would stay at the Garden Hotel again and will definately recommend it to everyone.
“Would go back in a heartbeat”
A beautiful hotel. Great view of the surrounding hills. Picture perfect. The room was small but very comfortable and clean. We were on the 2nd floor of the main building and we had good wifi connection. The hotel has a restaurant which serves a modest lunch and a normal dinner. The food was good but I would go into Siena for lunch or dinner. The breakfast was very good so we ate a good breakfast before we went into the city. There is a bus which will take you into the city and it comes every half hour. There are several tours one can take of the country side and taste the wines or have a steak dinner at a farm. We took the steak dinner which was not that great but the country side was breathtaking. This city is one not to miss, it is as it was back then.
“Oasis in Siena”
It was so nice to be away from the crowded walled city. However the distance was to far to walk in the heat and needed to take a cab . The hotel staff was outstanding as far as customer service goes.We stayed in the Casablanca annex rooms located down a flower lined and tree shaded walkway. The room was small and did not have a fold out support for lugguage so had to use the top of everything else in the room. The bed was made up beautifully with crisp white linens and the bathroom was all marble with nice toiletteries and great showerhead. The property was huge with plenty of on site parking- a lovely swimming pool area- outdoor bar service and dinning looking over Siena roof tops. The breakfast buffet was good with a wide assortment of foods. However we dined twice in the evening- the first meal was fantastic- the second was only so- so. Both were seafood pastas- but different, the first night loaded with sea food- the second night just a few choped very small bay shrimp. Maybe that was the receipe. I found this hotel to be more than the pictures were able to tell and would definelty stay again. However, I found Siena overated and would not recommend a stop there unless one had a lot of sigthseeing time.
“Second visit, won't be the last!”
Thoroughly enjoyed our return visit to Hotel Garden. Received a genuine warm welcome from staff we had met before and impeccable service from all we dealt with.Restaurant food was superb as always Whether dining inside or on terrace later in season it's a real pleasure. Rooms are very comfortable and traditionally decorated. Pool and villa grounds excellent places to relax. Ideal base for exploring Tuscany by car.Sadly only a three day break this time , but will definately stay longer next time.
“A true Tuscan country experience”
The hotel exudes a true Tuscan experience, being located in the midst of a sprawling, well-tended garden. The rooms are spartan but clean and well maintained. The bathrooms could have been bigger but they are clean. The sitting area in the building where the rooms are located had lovely country furniture but care could have been taken to ensure the cushion covers did not have the feel of neglect. I presume the area hasn't been cleaned in a while as few patrons hang out there. The dining room and bar exude opulence. All in all, I had a truly enjoyable experiece in the hotel. However, its location is a major drawback. Walking to the city centre is a bit of a hike -- I walked about 40 minutes and still hadn't reached it; perhaps I took a wrong turn. One could take a 5 minute walk to the bus-stop near the hotel that takes you to the city but check the schedule; you may have a long wait and the buses may not run on public holidays. But a taxi ride costs just under Euros 10, so Garden Hotel is still a fantastic choice. I would certainly rent a car and stay in Garden Hotel if ever I visit Siena again.
“Beautiful location”
Lovely hotel within 15-20 minutes walking distance from Siena wall. Staff is friendly and helpful, the restaurant is excellent and breakfast buffet is outstanding. Great view from the patio you can eat breakfast on. We stayed in the annex and the room was very cute and clean. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but wasn't bad and there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets. The bathroom was large and the shower had great water pressure. Overall, highly recommend this hotel.
“GEM OF A HOTEL IN SIENA”
The Hotel Garden is a well run, beautiful hotel with stunning views from the hotel terrace over the city of Siena. We stayed in the main building, our friends stayed in one of the annexe buildings. We were all happy with our rooms. The hotel is relaxed & peaceful. There is a lovely large cool garden and large swimming pool. The food was lovely, plentiful and very well presented. We had our breakfast outside on the large sunny terrace and also drinks there in the evening. We found the prices of the drinks quite reasonable. The hotel was quite busy whilst we were there, but staff were always helpful and attentive. We ate our evening meals at the hotel, the prices were excellent and the food was simply fabulous - typically italian, fresh and delicious!! I have read some previous reviews about The Hotel Garden, regarding the annexe buildings, distance away from the centre of Siena, prices of drinks. I can honestly say that I would totally disagree - YES, the annexe buildings are modern blocks, but they have lovely large clean quiet modern hotel rooms in them! YES, the hotel is a 30 minute walk from the centre of Siena, but it is a pleasant 30 minute walk (there are numerous buses at 1 euro, or a taxi is 10 euro) - and as for prices of drinks, I did not think they were any different from any hotel I have been to in the UK (I actually think some UK hotel prices are more!!). Overall, I was very impressed with The Hotel Garden - Good Old Fashioned Service, Someday, I will be back!!!
