“Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor was everything that I expected, good location, great service, AAA+++”
Raffles French colonial hotel have the best staff, each day we where welcomed back from visiting the Temples. Great buffet breakfast. Great pool and spa. Fascinating traditional dancers. And just a truly wonderful place
“Best Hotel in Cambodia”
We have traveled extensively and can honestly say this is the best hotel we have stayed in anywhere in the entire world. The staff was extremely attentive and catered to our every need. At times it felt like we were the only guests in the hotel. All of the staff knew our names and that it was our anniversary. Everything we needed was arranged for us and we were constantly asked if we needed anything else. The pool is wonderful and has great staff. The hotel and rooms have a colonial style decor, but are modern so that no comfort is missed, such as high speed internet access. They also have a business center if one is needed. The restaurants on site are excellent, so much so that we did not venture out on our own for meals for two days, which we have never done before. This place is certianly more expensive than many other hotels in town, but it does not disappoint. It is well worth the price and the type of place you remember and talk about for the rest of your life.
“Raffles: wonderful trip back in time”
We had a wonderful time at the raffles, the service was impeccable and the rooms were well appointed and spacious. The pool was terrific. 5 star colonial hotel at it's best. Not to mention what an amazing experience Angkor and the surrounding area is.
“A most impressive property”
This hotel is a gem. I only wished I had learned of it before. The staff will exceed even your highest expectations with such grace and dignity. This is truly a hotel to remember no matter where you travel in the world.
“Poor value for the money”
The Raffles Grand Hotel is the original big hotel in Siem Reap. Built in the 1930s it was enlarged and renovated some years ago. The room we stayed in was small, not particularly well furnished and quite plain. The price we paid was very high for what we got and it was poor value for money. We could have gone to another hotel one block away (the Victoria) and been in a much nicer hotel for about half the cost. The staff at Raffles was good, almost to the point of being intrusive, and it has a large pool. Bar and restaurant were OK, but expensive. We would not recommend this hotel. You can do a lot better in Siem Reap, where there are many good hotels with as many stars as you want.
“"Raffles is top for Angkor Wat"”
From the beginning of our stay at Raffles Grand Hotel D'Angkor we knew it was going to be a good experience. The staff were amazing making the suggestion and organizing an air-conditioned van to take our family of four complete with guide in order to make the most of our two days in Siem Reap. Dawn at Angkor Wat was a 'do not miss' experience. The sight seeing was truly amazing and the attraction of having a midday break of a few hours at this gorgeous hotel and pool was the perfect balance! The breakfast was varied with a huge array of local food, healthy smoothies and juices and the usual to cater for all tastes. All the staff were attentive and welcoming with cheerful smiles and greetings. We all felt it was one of the more outstanding hotel stays we have had!
“Grand Hotel in Siem Reap”
There are many new hotels in Siem Reap and many more being built. I considered many of them before opting to stay here and I would never pick anywhere else. This is an outstanding hotel with all the old world charm you could want. I was almost embarassed to be treated this nice. Shouldn't this sevice be limited to presidents or popes or kings? No, at the Grand Hotel it is for everyone and I really believe it was genuine. They sure made you feel that way. One small example: I asked a bellboy (Vierk) about the new wing of the hotel built some years ago. He answered my question, but the next morning I found he had placed under my door a complete history of the hotel. If going to Siem Reap, save yourself the reaserch trouble and just book here!
“Character and serenity”
I can't write highly enough about this hotel. Out of all the places we stayed for two weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia, this was the hotel that felt instantly welcoming, comfortable qand luxurious. The old Art Deco character of the place has been lovingly restored (eg the wooden lift) and maintained. So much more impressive than a souless modern hotel. The staff are courteous and friendly. The pianist - Carlos (from the Phillipines) - will engage you in long conversations about classic films and flim noir between taking requests if you let him. The day spa was excellent (they were running some great specials when we were there) and the breakfast suptuous. The hotel's a little bit out of the action but a cheap 5 minute tuk tuk ride gets you to the markets and resturants around Pub Street. Just book and go.
“Superb stay in Siem Reap”
Not as glitzy as some of the new hotels in town, but lovely and comfortable with excellent service. The large swimming pool is surrounded by wonderful plantings, making you feel you are in a peaceful, tropical garden.
“Great modern twist on old hotel”
Great - love it - except.... WHY do top end hotels insist on charging for internet!!??? I know this hotel has tradition and famous guests since 1920's but get real - it is know the 21st century and we shouldn't be paying for access to public information. I know you put in the equipment, but you also put in the pipes and we didn't pay for water. Arggghhhhh
