“One of few really nice places to stay in Siem Reap with some character”

We had a lovely time staying here with three small and boisterous children. The staff were very charming and helpful, the pool was great for grownups or children, and very confortable rooms. The bathrooms are just a partition of the main room, which might put some people off. And we were given a distinctly odd dinner recommendation one evening, but that's part of the charm.

“Nothing surprise”

The hotel was good, but all the things were as our expectation. Nothing surprised us. I will choose hotels or villa with 1/3 price of Hotel De La Paix next time.

“"Heaven on Earth"”

We stayed at the Hotel De La Paix April 2-4, 2011. From the moment we arrived and were greeted with cool scented towels we knew we had made the right choice in accommodation. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was world class! We would have been happy to stay longer!

“Perfect hotel in perfect location”

Our stay here was excellent from the minute we walked in the door to the time that that we left. The staff were extremely helpful in suggesting and booking tours, and restaurant reservation, the room was fantastic, and the hotel is like an oasis in the middle of the hubbub of Siem Riep. When I go back, I will stay here again. Dinner at the Sugar Palm was our favourite meal - great, cheap Khmer food Cooking at Le Tigre de Papier was a fun way to spend an evening We booked our temple tour guide through the hotel and he was wonderful I would not suggest a visit to the floating village - it is very overpriced - skip it Hotel de la Paix was wonderful!!

“Beautiful Angkor Art Deco Hotel”

My group and I were impressed with the architecture of the building, the service, the location. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. The staff was very attentive and professional. The hotel was conveniently located near other restaurants and the Museum. The only thing that we wish the hotel to have is Toto Washlet toilet seats. We highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

“Great overall”

The only thing wrong with the hotel was that I felt guilty staying in such a nice place while surrounded by the poor natives.

Area recommendations

The story is downtown and a great place to explore. Hire a tuk tuk driver with the help of the staff.

“Brilliant Hotel de la Paix”

This really is a lovely hotel. The ambiance, the food, the rooms and the service are top class. If it is within your price range and you wish to be centrally located near the town centre, then this is the hotel for you. Do not hesistate to go there. A special note in relation to the pool area which is very relaxing.

“Absolutely perfect in every way!”

Great place to stay! The decor is modern and so tasteful. In the lounge there is an art gallery. The rooms are gorgeous too. And, as an added touch, each room has an iPod with a great selection of music. Whoever selected the music had great taste. I would only stay here in Siem Reap. Can beat the location either.

“6 Fantastic days in Siem Reap”

The Hotel was beautiful, a great retreat from the heat. Beautiful rooms and very attentive service, great prices and beautiful swimming pool. Didn't want to come home!

Area recommendations

Siem Reap, Angkor and Tonle Sap were amazing. the culture and community spririt in Cambodia is something to be inspired by. We are already planning a return trip in the wet season to see the lake at it height and the Temples covered with lush vegetation. Siem Reap is set up beter then most Western cities to provide you with any kind of food or drinking atmosphere you desire. The locals only ask you once or twice to take their services ... then leave you be. Couldn't reccommend this place more!! Go to Tonle sap ( the lake) to see a community like you've never seen before.

When to go

Feb-March... for dry season... and less tourists.. but very hot 35-39c October... for the height of the flood season November... for the freshest/drier weather.

Getting around

Just find a Tuk Tuk driver and use them for daily trips around.... can fit 2 adults and 2 smaller kids. They cost max $15USD a day and will wait patiently for you to visit temples etc... great way to see angkor wat at your own pace and visit less popular temples... for a bit of peace and solitude. We kept our Tuk Tuk driver for 3 days and he was perfectly reliable... waiting at our hotel at requested times.
