One night stay to attend a show and local sites

Posted 28-Feb-2015
Pros: A well rounded experience that ticks all the boxes.
Location: Well located, signed and easily accessible. Nearby is the Iron Gorge museums, RAF museum and the International Centre.
Booked this hotel following a previous pleasant experience. I am pleased to say that my first experience was not a one off. My second visit was just as good. Although every aspect of my stay was worth a mention, one aspect is more worthy that the other. The hotel caters for Coeliacs. My wife is a full Coeliac so this was a blessing. This was topped by the Chef and staff being very flexible and understanding.

Good hotel, shame about the road system.

Stayed two nights. Friendly helpful staff. Had not intended to eat in the hotel but did so both nights (hotel not near centre of town), it was very good and reasonably priced

Niggly things that's all

Posted 23-Feb-2015
Pros: Nearly everything
Cons: Room availability on arrival
Location: Loads! Ice rink, bowling alley, 2 multi screen cinemas, restaurants, local park.
Really good apart from a couple of small things, no hot chocolate in the bar and the room wasn't ready (arrived at 2:45, arrival available from 2:00). Apart from that ok, gym looked small but we didn't use it. Room was great as was the breakfast and the staff were perfect.

Absolutely no sound proofing

Posted 23-Jan-2015
We stayed here last weekend for 2 nights, whilst there is nothing wrong with the actual hotel, the staff were very helpful and pleasant, we had two terrible nights sleep due to lack of sound proofing in the room. We were on the same floor as the gym and were woken up at 7 on the Sunday morning with the sound of a running machine, for anyone walking past and talking in just a normal manner, I could hear every word and let's not go into the sounds in the bathrooms of adjoining rooms. TAKE EARPLUGS.

Clean and tidy, average brekkie

Room was great, very spacious. Bed was massive but not the most comfy I've slept on. Breakfast was a disappointment for £10, no food poisoning but under average.

Just needed a room for night, great value and got a good night's sleep. Night staff were very helpful:) was a shame the pool wasn't open due to refurbishment but other than that I can't fault it.

Value for money

Two enjoyable nights - the weather was freezing outside but the hotel was cosy & warm and the staff were very helpful. Comfy beds, spacious room -only downside was the pool was closed.

somewhat disappointed

Posted 20-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
the room was very noisy both inside and out as on a main road. Screaming girls running down the corridor at 3am on the Friday night and lots of traffic noise and shouting from outside the window on the road meant we got very little sleep and whilst the room was very clean and pleasant the bed was extremely uncomfortable so our sleep was poor during our stay.We were every disappointed that the pool was not open as this was the main reason for booking this hotel as oppose to any other in the area. This wasn't a short closure or unexpected either as it appeared it had been closed since December and we would have expected to be advised prior to arrival. On the plus side the staff were excellent and extremely helpful and as stated the room was spotless and pleasant.

Telford Tattoo Freeze Weekend

Posted 14-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
Arrived to a friendly welcome by reception. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious (a bargain at £55 for the night) Had a nice 3 course meal in the restaurant, which didn't break the bank! Bar prices were fairly high (but to be expected in a hotel) The breakfast was very good. With a choice of full English or continental (or both) at a reasonable price of £9.50 Would definitely recommend this hotel
