Nothing special.

Telford isn't exactly the centre of the universe, but you could at least try. Key card stuck in the door, took twelve tries to get it open. Had to change it for a new one. Small stain on the toilet seat. Come on. This stuff is easy. Incomprehensible shower. The staff were helpful in my brief dealings, and the breakfast was pretty good (as it should be for £9.50). I'd say avoid, but all the other central options in Telford are the same kind of generic middle market. You get what you get. Maybe 'avoid Telford' would be the best advice.

Pros: Friendly staff and convenient location. Use of pool was very handy too.
Staff were extremely pleasant and obliging. Hotel looked tired in places. Room comfortable and clean. Would stay here again.

Did not stay, because Expedia completely mixed up

How can a booking for a single person for two nights be booked as couple with two children for a single night on a completely different date. Hotel was not at fault, can onpy blame Expedia.

Grays Hotel

Posted 07-Aug-2013
Pros: We liked the modern, comfortable room and the staff who were very helpful.
Cons: The room was very small and the slanted roof contributed to the cramped feel.
Location: The hotel was easy to find with plenty of ameneties close by (supermarkets, petrol stations, etc). It felt like a nice, secure area.
The hotel was very easy to find and there was plenty of parking behind barriers which contributed to the security. The reception was busy, a good sign but with one receptionist meant a short wait. The check in was easy and our room was relatively easy to find although some more signage would have been helpful. The room was very small but decorated to a high standard and very comfortable. The cleanliness was ok but there were areas that could have been improved if i were being pedantic. It was a little noisy with it being near a main road and the other guests but nothing more than one would expect. The check out was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would definately stay again but maybe request a room without a slanted roof which restricted movement a little.

Practical for business clients

The hotel is very close to the train station and surrounding offices. The service is very attentive from all staff. Food is very limited with the same menu for all week so if you are staying more than 2 days it gets very boring, however food is well prepared and mainly home made (better at the beginning than towards the end of the week)

Temporary Bar/Restaurant

Posted 05-Mar-2013
There was a wedding on in the hotel when I checked in. I enquired as to where the bar was and told this was a temporary one as the wedding had sole use of the main bar and the restaurant! The bar turned out to be a small conference room with 3 tables in and a barman that was running between the bar and this room, that service wasnt that great. I never felt the urge to try the temporary restaurant. Room was OK although I had upgraded to a "Club" room, didn't seem any bigger than a standard room. I don't know whether the decor and flat screen TV was the difference, I even asked at reception to make sure I had been allocated the correct room. Not a great experience which would have been better had the wedding not had sole use of bar/restaurant.
