Shreveport: Much like Bossier City on the other side of the Red River, Shreveport is known for riverboat gambling. This trend began in the mid-1990s in an effort to revitalize the city’s downtown and riverfront areas. Much of Shreveport was given a facelift and sculptures and mosaics were added, too. The city’s Texas Street Bridge, decked out with neon lights at night, is a highlight.
