OK types but 18kms from Mall Road

Posted 28-Jan-2015
Pros: Over all Hotel Structure.
Cons: Maintain more properly
Location: Hotel is at least 18 kms from Shimla which is around 1 hr drive from Mall Road. Kufri is near by point.
Hotel is at least 18 kms from Shimla which is around 1 hr drive from Mall Road and towards Kufri. Difficult to locate especially at night. Even GPRS gives you the wrong location. Hotel is "OK' types, including breakfast and rooms. If you are planning to remain near Mall Road then please don't book it. Parking is available. Staff is cooperating.

Nice hotel located in a natural surrounding

Posted 18-Dec-2014
Pros: The location, the staff and the food is one of the best features
Cons: The interior could be redone to make it more modern.
Location: Located in the most beautiful area of Shimla. We could do much because of snow but otherwise there is cycling, horse riding, river rafting and hiking.
We made this reservation as a last minute booking since our hotel that we were staying in did not have power backup and there was electricity cut in Shimla during our visit because of snow. We checked here and they did have 100% power back up which was the main selling point to us. The hotel has a beautiful location and has marvellous views from the premises. The rooms were good and the food was simply awesome. Though there was no electricity the whole day, the hotel kept the generators running till beyond midnight when we fell asleep. The water boilers could not work due to lack of power and sunshine for solar heating. But the extremely courteous staff provided us with buckets of hot water from geysers to ensure we were comfortable enough. We can't thank them enough for going out of way to ensure that we were comfortable. All we had to do was make a request and they would swing into action immediately. Finally, as most road of Shimla were closed for the day due to snow, the hotel is located on an all weather road as they told us that has an alternate route to get out of Shimla without getting trapped. We traveled about 20km more than the regular route but at least we managed to reached Delhi without getting stuck in snow. Kudos to this hotel.

Good Hotel

Posted 29-Nov-2014
Its a lovely place with nature and beauty all around. If you are visiting Shimla to be swept away by nature, greenery and peace and not land up in a hotel that offers nothing but the same overcrowded environment that you needed a break from, then this one of the best places for your vacation. The rooms are decent sized with good cleanliness. Staff is very nice and polite and did go an extra mile to make our stay more comfortable. Food is very good and the menu is decently priced. The location is the best asset. 30 - 40 mins to reach any destination in and around Shimla. Will definitely recommend to all friends and family. Cheers!!!

Beautiful Location, had a lovely stay

Posted 22-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Location is the key reason you would visit this place. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. The hotel has a TT and a billiards table but the facility is poorly maintained. The rooms are clean and the room service is prompt on request. The staff is eager to help, which is worth appreciating. The food is good. They would do well to maintain the bath/rooms in top notch condition, the shower wasn't working, the billiard cues were broken. Overall, I had a peaceful and serene stay

Very bad experience

Posted 23-Jun-2014
Pros: only the surrounding, view only.
Cons: My first recommendation is hotel to follow some standard to get the ratting from 1 to 5 star.
1. this is the biggest disadvantage while booking online as the hotel photos look attractive but actual thing is different. 2. View from the hotel is fantastic . 3. Rooms - terrible maintain, you talk about any think specially bed sheet, and bed cover. 4. Complimentary Breakfast - don't even try(very few option) , and if the table cloth, you can not eat food.

Great resort

We really liked our stay in Whistling pines resort. The lobby was beautiful, the manager / owner friendly and very kind. The dinner and breakfast were great. The view of the surrounding mountains was lovely. The manager also played TT with my husband and son. I liked the spacious room as well

Don't bother with this hotel

Posted 27-May-2013
Pros: The view
Cons: The condition
Location: 1 hour from Shimla
Dreadful hotel in a really run down condition, room smelt, hotel was cold in the middle of summer, food was poor, hotel is about 1 hour from Shimla with nothing close by. Only positive point was the view.
