“Third Time There - Would Go Back Again”
This is our third stay at the Renaissance Sharm El Sheikh Golden View Beach Resort. We will go back again. The welcome is always friendly, the staff attentive and the facilities excellent. There are four pools but only one of these, near Acapulo Joe's restaurant, is heated so in the later autumn winter months the others can be chilly! Given its location at the top of the headland it's a fair trek to the bright lights of Naama bay (4 km) where the chain restaurants and 'all you can eat' English breakfasts can be found. This is one of the benefits of this hotel. If you're looking for late nights and partying then this is not for you. If you are a couple or a family with young children whose wish is to relax and enjoy the sunshire and good service then this is definitely for you.
“Return visit booked”
The service at the hotel was very good. My Egypt Air flight landed without my luggage and the concierge team were extremely helpful in assisting me getting my luggage back to the hotel. I found everyone I came in contact with at the hotel very helpful and friendly. Additionally, I found it extremely beneficial to have the Roxy Tour Company and the PADI Dive centre on site. I found the hotel to have a good variety of restaurants on site and the pools and the hotel site itself very well maintained and pleasant however the rooms were a bit 'tired' and the mini-bar was not stocked (had to ring to get it stocked but it was dealt with within an hour of my call).
“A place of paradise.”
Our 3rd visit in 5 years. Hotel is wonderful, with a staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Always happy and willing to help in whatever way. The Renaissance is a beautiful hotel with magnificent views out to sea. The food in the Ocean restaurant (buffet) is fresh and tasty with a choice to suit all tastes. We have never returned to a hotel 3 times ever but the Renaissance has everything we could wish for on holiday. We travelled with our two grown up children 19yrs and 24yrs and the holiday was a real delight. Would recommend this hotel to anyone - I always call it my little piece of paradise!!
“Definitely return here again”
It was very quiet when we were there, a combination of the killer shark problems in the area, the Arab Spring and the worldwide recession. Nevertheless the hotel offered a full range of services and the quality and friendliness of the staff is of a very high standard. The hotel is about 7 years old and the bedrooms / bathrooms need refurbishment if they are to compete with newer hotels opening around the world. This is a global marketplace. The Red Sea offers superb diving, resort hotels and guaranteed sunshine so it matters very little about the external surroundings. The only area of dissatisfaction indeed is with some fellow hotel guests who treat very intelligent and hardworking people as their slaves. They are fortunately in the minority. This is a very good hotel and we would definitely return.
“Nice experience”
The hotel was fine. The rate was average/high compared to others in the neighborhood. It is a good distance from the center of activities in Naama Bay. The gym is not up to speed. The buffet was not outstanding, but the basics were there.
“Sharm”
would love to go back for longer next time
“Excellent Hotel”
Excellent hotel very friendly, clean, good service, good facilities and overall value for money. Taxi from airport was annoying tried to overcharge by double the rate. Pay no more than 140 Egypt Pounds to hotel as that is the government rate.
“Alicia and Tom”
Hotel was pleasant and impressive on arrival. There had been a mix up with our room so rather than a Deluxe King room the first night we had a twin standard room. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were helpful. The food was ok, we were on a dining package and the options were not that varied. The waiters made errors with drinks when we requested no ice and simply took it out and returned the drink- Not acceptable. There is only 1 heated pool and in January the others are too cold to swim in making the heated one very crowded. Generally a mixed review but the stay was pleasant besides a few hicups.
“Definitely a relaxing, getaway from it all!!!”
Beautiful hotel, well kept, excellent location, full kitchen but no dishes. Washer and dryer right in our room - excellent! The food was decent albeit quite expensive for the area. The wine wasn't worth paying for :-). Really enjoyed the mexican restaurant, especially for an afternoon snack. Most people took a cab into the town and ate there. We had just spent 2 weeks in the rest of Egypt and were looking for a relaxing getaway where we didn't have to think or travel -- this was excellent! We did book the Bedouin dinner and were disappointed with it -- lame-o. Don't waste your money. Not everyone spoke English at the hotel but they soon found someone who did. They printed some work related documents for us with no charge. There is a coral reef right off the beach of the hotel - no need to take an excursion, bring your snorkles. If you need to buy anything, get off the resort and to the market, things are way cheaper.
“just fine”
In general the hotel is nice, at a very good location, close to downtown and shopping malls..There were some small points though which disappointed me like some staff at front office.I arrived late at night and asked them to arrange a pick up from the airport for my friend,I didn't know the flight number. So I had to call the airport myself to find it out which took me quite long time before I could go to rest.Room service and Housekeeping on the contrary impressed me.They were really fast in handling orders..
