“Truly All-Inclusive”

Great hotel; the all-inclusive saves you a ton of money as the tourist prices out on town will eat you up. We were making fun of the reviews that said not many people speak English until we got to the hotel... It's not a bad thing at all, but 90% of the guests were Russian, Italian, or other Eastern Europeans so the activities and SCUBA dive instructors and most employees speak predominately Russian or Italian; but I still got through 2 SCUBA dives in English :D Again, it's not a bad thing, but in case you want to socialize with other guests, you can expect a language barrier with English. The staff was very professional and the meals were fairly good for all-inclusive meals; you can a beer any time of the day and the bar is a great place to have some chips/peanuts and a drink after the sun sets.

Area recommendations
No need to leave the hotel, especially since it is all-inclusive and because Sharm doesn't have anything besides its beach resorts. If you are trying to "experience Egypt" AND relax on the beach, you'll have to take at least one full day of your trip to travel to Cairo or somewhere else around Egypt.
Nightlife
There's really no need to leave the hotel, and if you do you'll just be hounded by the tourist hungry locals who have been losing money since the Revolution in Jan/Feb. Instead, take advantage of the all-inclusive, have a drink on the cliff during sunset at least one evening - it's an incredible view. If you are stir-crazy and have to leave the hotel, there is a hookah bar past the Alf Layla wa Layla ("1001 Nights") on the strip of outdoor hookah bars. Ask for Sayyid; he's the most chill hookah bar there, the rest of them will hound you as a tourist. Next to the hookah bar are a bunch of shopsw where you can get trinkets and souvenirs.

“Good Sharm Hotel”

The hotel is up to the usual "good quality" Sharm standard. Not premium luxury, not poor, but normal respectable and acceptable good quality standard for the Sharm area (and I've stayed in quite a few over the years). The hotel is on the shore and has own moderately-sandy beach, which is quite a plus in Sharm, especialy in the Hadaba area where it is situated. Not all hotels have this, in lots of other hotels you'd need a bus to the beach. There are shops and a pedestrian bazaar-type area within a 10min walk from the hotel. Best one is the Metro supermarket, a 10-15 min walk down the main road past the Fantasia complex. A proper supermarket with prices marked and no haggling. Note the hotel is not inside the main town of Naama bay, but is rather a 10-min taxi ride away. But singles and clubbers might prefer a hotel inside Naama itself. Food is fine, but I'd recommend to the chef to use more imagination and less sausages, radishes and mayo.

Getting around
Local taxis are easy to catch right outside the hotel, a ride to Naama should cost about 20LE (US$4). Drivers may ask for much more, just say No, the next one will be along in 30 seconds. Make sure to say "Egyptian pounds" to avoid confusion with British pounds. The local taxi-driver name for Naama is "Marina". The local taxi driver name for this hotel is "Hadaba - Fanara". On the way back from Naama, to get a better price, don't catch your cab at the main taxi stand, but rather cross the road and walk a bit along the highway.
Shopping
All non-local alcohol is very expensive in sharm, so if you need anything non-local, bring it with you or buy it in the duty free shop. There's a duty free shop upon arrival in sharm airport; and another one in Naama bay near the Kahramana hotel, usable if you show your passport with arrival stamp, within 48 hours of arrival. The duty free prices are in USD so take some dollars in cash, their exchange rate is pretty horrible.

“overall enjoyable”

The hotel was of a good standard - a proper 4 star. Hamy who looked after our "villa" was extremely helpful. The overall standard of food was good. As it was all inclusive, several guests were helping themselves to 3-4 plates of food and then wasting quite a lot of the food. The male staff selling their spas and beauty treatment were extremely irritating and not taking no for an answer. My daughters were not happy with some of their lewd comments which spoilt an otherwise great holiday. The Expedia agent Sameer was extremely helpful.

“a place to relax in the sun”

We were warmly welcolmed and taken to our rooms. The hotel is on a long narrow(ish) strip of land from the sea inwards. At the end away from the sea is a pool that was very quiet (in Jan) and a lovely restaurant and bar there too. This suited us but we did go to the sea where the swimming was great in clear water with the colourful fishes. The pool at this end was busy but warm. We ate too much the first two days with being all inclusive but if you choose wisely there is a good selection and you don't need to put on half a stone like I did!

“Nice resort,great location”

Very nice hotel with beautiful grounds, good food for an all-inclusive,and likely the best snorkelling and diving right at the resort than any area in Sharm.Beach area is small because the property is long and narrow but if you don't mind being a bit crowded you could always find a place to sit.Free shuttle every day to Naama Bay and Old Sharm and if you like walking you can make it to Old Sharm in about 20 minutes.

Traveller's tip
Venders everywhere in Egypt are extremely aggressive and make any shopping a miserable experience, best to avoid looking at them or talking to them unless they have something you actually want.

“PARADISE RIGHT HERE”

We had an incredible time at this beautiful hotel. The food, service, staff were all excellent. Snorkeling right from the beach unbelievable, my husband was exstatic. They loaned the equipment 'free'!! He went out 2 times each day for over an hour. The ambiance of the grounds, pool and area is so beautiful. Internet is over priced, but McDonalds with free wi-fi is 5 minutes away. We are travelling for a year so internet access is very important to us. Air con in the room smelt a bit moagie. We would return here again and hope to from Canada next year. Excellent! 5 star location and service. Excellent!

Traveller's tip
We found this hotel through expedia at a great rate. Lots to do at the resort, close to shopping, restaurants and attractions. Trips offered by hotel into old market. Thanks Expedia! We are on a year trip around the world and this was a great holiday from the trip. Just Relaxed in a wonderful environment.

Ras Umm Sid, Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt: Situated at the tip of a small peninsula of land at the north point of Sharm el Sheikh Harbor, Ras Umm Sid is a popular area for diving.
