Good staff, not always expecting tips. Its just the activity guys that hound you to buy excursions from them which becomes annoying. Also don't trust the camel guys which tend to wait outside the resort for you.

We chose to go to Sharm for the winter sunshine and it certainly delivered. On arrival we paid additional money for the deluxe side, which has 2 storey blocks of rooms surrounding one of the largest pools I've seen in a hotel complex, part of which was heated. The rooms were very large with a super king sized bed and a huge bathroom with walk in shower and a bath. All the rooms on this side of the hotel overlook the pool. The non deluxe side of the hotel (the sea side) has smaller blocks set in gardens with some overlooking the main pool which again is large and deeper than the other main pool, but others only overlook the internal roads. There are some though that look over smaller pools. The sun loungers and parasols were always available. The restaurant on the deluxe side was large and well laid out, on the sea side not quite so spacious, the food in both was plentiful though the quality could have been better at times. There were several different bars in the main reception buildings and around the grounds. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive in all areas of the hotel and from all the staff, from the boy who cleaned the room to the restaurant manager. The hotel also gives access to a small beach, (sun loungers go early here!) from which the snorkeling is fantastic. Overall for a winter sun holiday the whole experience couldn't be faulted.

Stayed for a week at the Savoy Sharm in a Garden View Suite. The Hotel was first class. The room was excellent, the hotel facilities and in particular the staff were of the highest standard.
Our only criticism was that some of the food and drink in the hotel's many restaurant was a little expensive and was less consistently excellent than other elements of the hotel. Exceptions to this were the burgers, which were very good and the food at the Seafood restaurant by the beach, which was suburb.
I could not recommend this place high enough for those wanting a high quality, relaxing beach hotel.

When we got to Sharm El Sheikh for the first evening it quickly became clear we had stumbled across an excellent place to stay. The Novotel probably has the prime location in Naama Bay, right on the beachfront with beautiful private beach, with coral to snorkel over etc. easy access to water sports. It's near enough to walk to the centre of the town, but far enough away to be quiet. The room was great. (Superior double room, massive bed, garden view, beachside). The important thing is to go for beachside, because half the hotel is on the north side of the highway, and if you are there you have to cross the road to access the beach facilities. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Next time we go to Sharm we won't be staying anywhere else.
We visited the Dahab Plaza a year ago and had nothing but praise for it and it’s owner Emad Soliman.. so of course, for our return visit there could be no other choice. What a surprise we had.. Emad has been working ceaselessly on his hotel and we were met with a new courtyard, refurbished rooms and a beautiful new swimming pool! Rather than sitting around bemoaning the lack of tourists due to the recent revolution, he used the time wisely and has made some lovely improvements.
Just coming into the beautifully lit courtyard late at night after a lovely meal on the seafront after a fantastic day’s diving is such a pleasure. It’s also nice to know that in Dahab, the money you spend on your holiday is going into the Egyptian economy; rather than being spirited straight out of the country by some multinational hotel company in Sharm El Sheikh..
..And for anyone who’s wondering, Dahab felt like the safest place in the world for me as a female and a tourist. We went as a couple but we’re not joined at the hip and i spent some time wandering about on my own. The revolution has had no impact on the diving community there, or indeed the whole area.. So if you like friendly honest people, lovely diving, good accommodation, and very reasonable prices, Dahab Plaza is the place and now is the time!
