“ok, but could do better”
the hotel itself was nice. had pool, gym and sauna, however the service provided left a lot to be desired. * the website said they provide complimentry roundtrip shuttel to the airport. i cinfirmed my pick-up by phone and email and yet no-one came to pick us up. i found myself having to use my home mobile to ring the hotel to get them to sort it out *when we arrived it was late so we decided to get room service which goes on till midnight, however the chef had gone home at 11.15pm! *the information on the website and in the rooms stated that a shuttle service was available to the major shopping malls in Sharjah and Dubai. this was not the case and thus I spent a lot of money on taxis getting into Dubai and back. this was costly, especially when traffice was slow. also if i wanted a shuttle to Sharjah, i had to book it the day before, which was not necessarily convenient *the room key cards kept cancelling out and thus we found ourselves having to go back to reception at least once each day to have the key re-programmed. *our room was not cleaned on the last day. we were checking out at midnight but it still should have been done, so we had no clean bathmat etc.. for the day having said all this, the rooftop pool was nice to relax around as the sun set. the room was nice and comfortable. we didnt eat there so no idea what the food was like. there was a nice lunch and dinner buffett at a bigger hotel nearby
“Expedia description of hotel poor”
During our stay in Sarjah our hotel was extremely comfortable however we were looking for a hotel that had a kitchen which on expedia describes it has however these are on only on particular rooms which this does not state anywhere. Members of staff did nothing about this and pretended that they really didnt understand what we were saying. We had to request 3 times over the course of the week to get our room cleaned as they did not bother cleaning our room. We have a fridge in our room which did not work and an empty mini bar. The air con also broke whilst we were however that was fixed.Wifi is only in the lobby and you can only get internet in your room if you have a computer and a lead, which again is not stated on Expedia description. The positive side to our hotel it has a large flat screen TV with movie channels and it was quite spacious. The roof top pool was extremely enjoyable as well with a hands on assistant by the pool. The food was also lovely and a very reasonable price.
There was no bathrobes, no deluxe shower amenities. The bed was so hard, i had to sleep on pillows. The pool was freezing. The waitstaff reused to charge our lunch to the room. It was hard to book our tours through the hotel. Though friendly, the staff at the front desk did not definitively get our tours in a timely manner. Many of the Dubai cab drivers did not know, or want to know how to get back to the hotel; even after we provided a map for them. The hotel only wanted to deal with cash, even with our tours. This is the first place where we had an issue with a credit card. My husband and I have traveled all over the world, including the Middle East, and never had this type of issue. This was undue stress, that we didn't need on vacation.
“inaccurate expedia information”
Expedia says:- "complimentary airport shuttle" - does not exist "complimentary area shuttle" - does not exist "Bathrobes - do not exist *"Minibar" - a warm empty fridge exists "Coffee/tea maker" - a welcome "pack" of 2 coffee sachets exist which are not replenished "Kitchen" - no kitchen facilities exist The hotel is about 40km from Jumeirah so not suitable for dubai beaches, the shuttle does not exist so you will need to rely on taxi services (roughly 120DHS) each way to malls, airport or dubai. We arrived to find the hotel clean and well maintained. However our room was not serviced after the first night until we complained 4 days later that the room had not been cleaned, fresh towels provided etc. We had to insist that our room was cleaned. Also, do not see the hotel porter for a taxi - he got some local friend to drive us to dubai in a dirty smelly car for 140dhs and it turned out he was not even insured to carry passengers. Breakfast was really good and tasty costing about 60DHS per day but well worth it and good service from the restaurant staff who were friendly, helpful and nice. Generally I would definately not go back and would think twice before believing the hotel description provided on the expedia website in future - a good holiday ruined.....
