“Not impressed”
Reserved an Executive room. Was assigned a very nice room, beautiful view, but with a terrible problem of sewer gas. Complained, and they sent up a maid with some air freshner! Complained again, and was re-assigned to a standard room with lousy view. No attempt to compensate, no discount, and not even a free cocktail. Area was marginal, and was told not to walk the area at night. The Cafe had good food and fair prices. The E-bar was smoky, too noisy, and also had raw sewerage smells. Prices at the Steakhouse were outrageous.
“Great rooms”
Over all the amenities in the room were great. I am really satisfied for the service. conts: wifi is only available at lobby or at executive floor with its respective service charge
“Eton Shanghai”
We stayed at the Eton Hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Putong Ave metro station. Our room was on the 37th floor with river view, not bad for its location. Notice the view is not of the prime Bund but more of a river with container barges and commuter boats. The bathroom amenities were excellent. One drawback was that the bathroom was partitioned only by glass and the curtain that is supposed to maintain privacy does not lower all the way, in addition to the gap that exists between the curtains at the corner.
“Excellent hotel”
We stayed in this hotel for a week. Everything in this hotel is excellent. From the window of theroom, we can see the Huangpu River. The night view is great. The room is clean. The staff cleaned the room promptly. It is always cleaned after we come back from breakfast. The only thing we do not like is the seafood at the buffet diner which was cold.
“Fantastic hotel+great service”
First time staying at the Eton, would definately be back. NIce room, clean but there was no view and considering i upgraded to the executive floors it was a little disappointing. location is ok but still not within walking distance to lujiazui. The buffet breakfast is lovely, mixed with both western and eastern cuisine. All staff were exceptional. one thing to keep in mind is that the message place on level four is not very professional. the therapist repeatedly insist i add time even though i selected the 90min package and at the end she asked me to pay for next day's session first incase i wanted another message. All in all a nice hotel
“Delivering Consistent Quality Service”
I travel frequently and this was the third time that I stayed at the Eaton. Overall experience was quite good and consistent across my three visits . Location of the hotel is very convenient, a 10minutes taxi ride will take you to the Oriental Pearl Tower, Super Brand Mall and IFC tower. Metro station, Line 4, is just across the road. Eaton offers and range of good in house restaurants but I think the Chicago Streak House is both over rated and significantly over priced
“Great pudong Hotel”
Excellent hotel for the foreign traveler. Go to the Executive Floor. Great lounge and food. Location, near subway and financial district was perfect.
“Not bad but service could have been better.”
The hotel is in a good location in that the metro was just across the street. Even if there isn't all that much around it. The room was looking a little tired in places and the hairdryer wouldn't stay plugged in but other than those small things the room was nice and clean. The check in and out were managed efficiently but staff across the hotel didn't have the same levels of professionalism I have come to expect when traveling in better hotels in Asia. For example, on entering nobody asked if I needed help with my bags (are you supposed to thrust your bags on people in China?) and when I went to the concierge desk to ask for some help with onward travel arrangements but it seemed like I was a bit of an imposition. Maybe I should have realised from the cigarette sitting on the computer keyboard that the guy had wanted to go for a break! But overall, not bad.
“great hotel!!”
It was great to count on your advice!!
“Clean but extremely small rooms!”
While this was a very clean hotel, the room was extremely small! Housekeeping very annoying. Determined to clean room, and while we were dealing with jet lag and needed to sleep they chose to ignore the DO NOT DISTURB sign to phone our room twice in an attempt to clean room. Other than that it was very comfortable. Gym and pool very nice. Spa quality all the way.
