“Clean, comfortable, great city views”
Clean and comfortable. Rooms are a bit on the small size but furnished to a high standard. We paid a little extra for a 'city view' room - well worth it! The sunrise over the Bund/sky scrapers across the river was stunning. Good location - 5min walk to the pedestrianised shopping area of East Nanjing Rd and a 10min walk the Bund.
“Will go back.”
This Hotel is very busy with Weddings and as a result many time we missed our Hotel meals but close by are excellent local places to eat. The Office manage Phillip is excellent with English and understanding and speaking which is a plus. Rooms are small but typical for Asia. Beds are firm and our room had a wonderful river city view.
“Convenient location, clean & comfortable stay”
Convenient location: The hotel was close to the Bund and Nangjing Road. A street down from the hotel holds lots of choices for a local breakfast. Clean & comfortable: Room was very clean and comfortable in size Staff were friendly and helpful.
“An Amazing Experience”
Rooms: Great rooms, tastefully decorated and beautiful. The window offers a magnificent view of the downtown city. Marble bathrooms with heated toilets. Overall very luxurious accomodations well more than worth the price and some. Location: Situated in easy walking distance of Nanjing Road and the Peoples square. Also nearby street offers deliciois local cuisine for great breakfast under a dollar. Good distance from the temple center and downtown.
“Nice hotel, great price, excellent service, but it's off the Bund”
We were happily surprised that the hotel was so nice, with what he paid for, we were expecting so much less. The room was big and comfortable, very clean, but dirty stained rug. The staff is extremely helpful (at least when they can due to language barriers). Philip, the concierge, speaks good English and is a great asset to the property. The restaurant on the 18th floor offers delicious Chinese food, highly recommended. Try the beef tenderloin with pepper and onions, it's yummi! Location is OK... the hotel is not on the Bund, it's about 1 km away from it, but you can easily walk there. What's very convenient is the metro station, which you can walk to (5-10 minutes) and has 2 lines that can take you almost everywhere.
“ok for location restaurant service and cleanness are very bad”
before i checked in i paid a visit to the hotel , i discovered that they had switch the room they had showed to me before booking, when i complained they change the rooms and give me a paper to sign in Chinese which i discovered later when checking out that it is an extra charge for the room ,when i complained they didn't listen and they hold my bags till i paid the extra charge, restaurant service is very bad and not clean so i wouldn't recommend it at all .the only good thing is only the location which is very near to many touristic sights, cleanness is acceptable but not perfect.rooms needs maintenance and restoration and the situation of the rooms is moderate to old.
“Shanghai surprise”
Great hotel located next to Suzhou Creek, four blocks from the Bund and three blocks from Shanghai's main pedestrian shopping street. Great decor, helpful staff, breakfast on the top floor with a great view of the city. Only drawback is that the carpets in the rooms are stained and need to be replaced. Not a cleanliness issue, but a cosmetic problem.
“quality”
The carpets in the rooms are dirty and stained and need replacing. The water was not allways hot in the shower. The food and the service was excellent. We would stop there again.
“First time to Shanghai good city bad hotel.”
This was my first time traveling to shanghai. There are a lot of great tourist attractions in the city and I enjoyed being in china for the most part. Some advice for first time travelers, always carry some tissue with you since most of the public bathrooms don't have any. Be aware the there are a lot of scooters and bikes running on the sidewalks and an occasional car.Crossing at intersections is like a game of chicken with the turning vehicles be alert. As far as the hotel.. that's what almost ruined our trip. Our room was what we booked online. The hotel staff never gave me a smile and they were not friendly at all. This includes the manager. I will have to say that the only person that treated us the best was the trainee door man. He was the nicest person out of our entire trip. Our room smelled moldy and every day we had to put up with damp bed sheets since the AC was off during the time we were out. So they never dried properly. Our carpeting was stained and contributed to the damp moldy smell. The only good thing about the hotel is the location. It's on a side street a couple of blocks from the Nanjing road pedestrian shopping square and the Bund for a great view of the city's skyline. The bad thing is that the taxi drivers don't know where it is most of the time. So it's better if you tell them to drop you off at the Nanjing road pedestrian shopping square entrance and walk back to the hotel. Over all we will never use this hotel or recommend this hotel to anyone.
“could be better”
the 3rd person in suite had not an appropriated bed, but one like camping bed, mounted in the living room (uggly...)
