“We loved it!”
We arrived from the US very tired and our check-in was fast and easy. We got a beautiful corner room that allowed our 3 year old son a play corner which he loved. The hotel was clean and the room was a standard size. The bathroom had a bathtub and a glass shower. The shower leaked water all over the floor, which is the only reason I gave the condition of the hotel a 4*. We ate the buffet breakfast which was plentiful and good. It was an easy walk to the Bund area and a beautiful People's Park. I would definitely stay here again.
“Acceptable for business travel”
As a frequent visitor to Shanghai, and a regular client of The Bund, I can recommend this hotel. Having said that, I must comment that on my last two visits the level of service for breakfast is no where near as good as it used to be, and management needs to look at this, and remedy the situation.
“Nice location, clean and quiet room!”
This hotel is lacated near to Nanjing street and not far from The Bund, the 2 "Must-See" places in Shanghai. The hotel is clean and service is great. I needed aniron and they brought it right away. My window wouldn't completely close and they came right away to fix it. The only problem was that you would have to pay for internet which I got for free in all other hotels during my stay in China. One place outside Shanghai absolutely worth seeing is Suzhou which is the city of Gardens. Another one is the water town called "Zhouzhuang", which is like Venice and a gondola ride on the canal worths the whole world. However, do not take the Gray Line tour. I was on one with 4 other tourists to Suzhou and Zhouzhuang . The guide was a knowledgeable guy, but rude and arrogant. He also spent more time in the tea shop and silk painting shop of his friends than in the gardens. He was constantly on the cell phone and did not pay attention much to us or to our questions or requests. The rate for this tour was not cheap either. Other tours I took elsewhere in China were very nice and not that expensive.
“The Bund Hotel - Pass this one by”
Room was ok. Size good and bathroom clean. Public spaces were really shabby. Filthy carpets, upholstered chairs with long term food stains. Lobby smells like they have a problem with sewage backup. Coffee shop restaurant food is not fit for human consumption.
“Tidy Hotel”
Neat and tidy, no fuss with staff and a very resonable rate
“slightly gawdy taste, but nice”
great location!
“so-so”
The rooms were small, but nice. Shower was good. Hotel is within decent walking distance to the Bund. Lobby of hotel had a constant oder. Concierge service was not good, they did not ensure the taxi driver knew where to take us, and twice we were dropped off at the wrong location. The Bund is a business hotel in Shanghai, I think they should have shuttle service to Pudong airport, as it stands they do not.
“Good Value 3.5 star Hotel in Shanghai”
Although The Bund is of an older style Hotel from the outside, the owner has done a tremendous job of renovating the interior into a modern Hotel. My standard double room with 2 single beds was large, clean & comfortable. The bathroom appear to be recently renovated with new showers. All the modern convenience hot water, big screen Tv (which was replaced 2 days ago) lights, phones etc.. works. The Bund Hotel is located in a quiet section of the city, however it is only 1o minute walk to The Bund . It is also very close to Nanjing Road & you can explore all the side srteets with local shops & Resturants Would stay there again
“A pearl in Shanghai-definitely going back to this hotel”
The staff very professional ,they couldn't do enough for you. Also very efficient service booking transfers to airport. They even checked our flights to make sure there wasnt a problem at the airport. Staff well dressed and courteous. A convient location.
“Great location in Shanghai (HuangPu/Bund)”
Great location - walking distance ot Bund, Nanjing Lu, Renmin Guangchang (People's Square), House of Blues/Jazz and several metro lines. Very safe walking late at night. Hotel was neat and clean; staff was helpful. Food was average, breakfast overpriced, lots of better places to eat nearby. Would definitely go back again.
