The Regal East Asia Hotel has 350 guestrooms which, owing to the circular shape and outward slope of the stadium into which they are built, vary in size (in general, the higher the floor, the larger the guestroom). Some look outwards, others look into the stadium itself. All offer armchairs with coffee tables, and desks with lamps and wireless Internet access (surcharge). Wired high-speed Internet access is also available (surcharge). Cable/satellite TVs offer over 60 channels, mostly in Chinese but including CNN, Star Sports, ESPN, HBO, and Japanese channels. Bathrooms have weight scales, hair dryers, bathrobes, and slippers. Complimentary bottled water is also provided.

“Home Away From Home”

This hotel has come to be my home away from home. The rooms are all large and clean...and it is unique in that it is in the stadium!!!

Area recommendations

Xu Hui is central and accessible to shopping and restaurant...short taxi rides to some great areas of the city to explore.

†he New Century Mart is a must see for upscale Chinese food shopping...and go downstairs for home and health and beauty...soo many choices!!!

“Small room and not convenient to get out”

The hotel is terrible. The room is only 1/2 of the regular size of a standard room. I asked them for a two bed room and the two beds were all twin size beds. It is very difficult to get a taxi as the hotel is located within a stadium. Furthermore, all my taxi drivers had trouble finding this hotel as there are so many different entrances into the stadium, and the address is not helpful at all. I would never stay in this hotel any more.

“Nice hotel but there is room for improvement.....”

The location of the hotel is very convenient to Xujiahui. I stayed in a premiere room which is well laid and with full amenities (except an iron and ironing board). The room safe is very handy. The things that needs addressing are the dirty carpet area around the bed and the smelly/dirty shower curtain. The bed has beautiful linen but the mattress is basically a box spring. Other than that, it was a nice place to stay !

October/November...perfect temps.

Learn these pinyin words....Fu Hao Dong Ya Jiu Dian and repeat to the taxi driver.

What to pack

Press your clothes before you go and fold neatly. Pack your own coffee and no. 2 coffee filters to make your own coffee or go to Starbucks 1 block away every morning.....or drink instant from the room.

“bad room service”

Service could use some improvement. The staff at the pool were rude-- I didn't bring with me a cap and was told " you will make the pool dirty without a swimming cap"! On my last day of stay, a cleaning lady came right into my room in early morning without knocking the door--while I was sleeping. I jumped from the bed-- very unpleasant experience. Good rooms, but bad service!

“Hotel à Shanghai Stadium”

Hotel de bonne qualité. j'avais reservé une chambre CLub Regal, je me suis retrouvée dans une suite. Resto de bonne qualité. plusieurs restos sur place . café avec buffet à volonté (qualité moyenne), resto chinois (tres bonne qualité), resto japonais (bon rappoort qualité/prix) + bar au dernier étage avec vue sur la ville. L'hotel a aussi une piscine trés agréable pour se relaxer et un salon de massage. Les environs de l'hotel. il faut prendre le taxi ou le métro pour se rendre en ville, 15-20min de métro. il n' y a pas grand chose autiur, à part l'exhibition hall en face. pratique pour le business.

Area recommendations

Nanjing Road pour le shopping. Le bund avec vue sur Pudong, le quartier business de Shanghai. trés beau la nuit. Yuyuan Garden incontournable! People' park pour prendre l'air. Attention aux jeune chinois qui vous invitent à faire la cérémonie du thé! Trés cher et ils s'envolent au moment de l'addition, sous pretexte d'aller retirer de l'argent. Une collègue s'est fait prendre, ca lui à couter 2000 Yuans!!!! Négocier le prix du taxi pour les trajets longs, certains n'utilisent pas leur compteur et c'est à la tete du client. un aller nous avait couté 25 Yuan et au retour un aute taxi voulait 180 Yuan pour le meme trajet.

“Dans un stade”

Un hotel de tres grande classe. Pour les chambres au tarif le plus bas vous n'avez pas de lumiere direct mais on est pas en Chine pour rester dans la chambre. L'un de nous deux était sur place le jour de son anniversaire et en rentrant le soir il y avait un cadeau pour l'occasion.

“Gute Anbindung, Business-Atmosphäre”

Das Hotel liegt in der "Mitte" Shanghais und ist mit 3 Metros perfekt angebunden. Auch mit dem Taxi ist man in 20 - 30 Minuten am Flughafen Hongqiao. Die Lage mitten im Sportareal ist sehr speziell, allerdings dringt auch hier der Straßenlärm Shanghais durch - aber in welchem Hotel Shanghais ist das nicht der Fall? Das Hotel ist sehr stilvoll und perfekt auf Business-Travellers ausgerichtet.
