“Good Hotel”
good hotel but the subway a little far, about 15 min walk
“Good vaue”
Excellent position. line 2 and 3 in walk distance.Everything you need to buy just a short walk. great take away Chinese food delivered to the room.
“Cheap hotel, you get what you pay for”
The room my spouse and I stayed in for 3 nights had a strange odor that would either occasionally come from the drain in the bathroom or the room below us. We weren't sure. The last night we stayed there, the room began to smell of paint since they were painting another room on the floor. All in all, it's what one might expect when you pay so little a night. We stayed at hostels that were better than this hotel.
“Kitchette & workout facility”
On highway, so noisy hum of traffic. Near French concession. Workout facility run down, but working treadmill & great skyline view. Beds hard as a rock just like all beds in China seem to be. Food nearby. Subway kind of far, but manageable if you like 15 minute walks. Pretty spotty Internet connection even if wired. No real Wireless. Overall, served our needs well.
“Most spacious apt suite with value”
Came for 2 bedroom suite with large living rm, dinnning rm, kitchen / refrig. two queen beds, which were rare in China. Free internet. Hardwood Floor in the living rm, which was very clean, and very quired if you pick the side away from Yanan High way. (no washer/dryer, would rent for 100RMB. No microwave, rent for 50 RMB) Best location, near west Yanan Lu,near bus stop( 2 mins by foot), subway in 10min. Some bad reviews were for small regular hotel rm. Our suggestion, come here only go for one to two bedroom suite for the longer stay/ they offer very good price. For only 50% of the price as for a 5* hotel, you get 90 to 100 sq meter suite , not just 25 to 35 sq meter single rm with a fancier lobby. Other tips : get a travel card which is good for bus and subway with a lot discount, and try the hot pot resturant cross the street, named " xiao fei yang ".
“Satisfised on the whole”
i was happy with my stay at the 1st Rayfont Hotel situated at YuAn Road. It was very convenient for food and the also the metroline. Tho maybe they should have at least one channel on english on the tv jus like the 2nd rayfont hotel i stayed. Was a bit disappointed at my 2nd Rayfont Hotel stay near the Nanpu area... thos the nearest metroline is the nanpu bridge station but food was not easy to find and the shopping malls were far away... tho good was they had a english channel on tv.... I must compliment on the staff od both hotels as they have been very helpful even tho there was a a little barrier in the language between us.... On the whole, i enjoyed my stay and definetaly will stay at Rayfont again the next time i come by shanghai. Maybe Expedia can suggest a more convenient hotel.... Price was good on the hotel. Cheers Noriko/Julie
“will stay next visit”
good experience
“Great for the price!!”
For that kind of price range, really not much negative to point out. Sure, it isn't the Grand Hyatt or some other fancy chain or hotel, but this is just not what you would expect for that price range anyways - you would actually expect something pretty crappy and at best just about ok... So when I visited the hotel for the first time and saw my room, I was pretty impressed. Size of room ok, cleanliness fine, general condition fine, room service they speak English (and trust me that is not the case everywhere in China), location ok. Only thing I guess is that I got woken up early morning during the weekend by some maintenance work they were doing in the corridor and that was pretty annoying... So apart from that, absolutely fine and I would definitely recommend it. Just know your target; for the quick traveler there for a short while or for biz, fine. If I was going there with my family or wife/gf, then maybe you might want something a little more upscale.
“typical 3-star hotel”
Healthy-style bed (pretty rigid), small apartment-style room with cooking appliances. Bathtub is surprisingly small and worn-off, although clean. Noise level in room high even on the 28th floor because of the major expressway nearby. No shaving blades provided, other utensils are standard set. Internet is free and fair speed, but many sites are inaccessible (as expected in China).
“ok to stay”
one of the few hotel that offers 2 bedrooms, reasonable price, but hotel management needs to hire staff who knows how to clean better
