“best location, very good service, all you need is there!”
one of the best hotels we ever been and in a good price too.
“Excellent Value”
Great hotel and excellent value for Shanghai. Good location to local shopping and access to attractions. Close enough to The Bund to walk and other transportation options. Only negative thing I can say is about the service at the Windows on the Park restaurant. Service is very slow if non existent. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and it always seems to be a problem. Other than that it is a great value for your money with clean rooms. Housekeeping was extremely fast and did a excellent job and you never seen them in the hallways. The revolving restaurant and bar on the 45th floor was excellent although a little pricey.
“Great location.”
Hotel was sensibly priced for a very central location with an excellent pool.
“Great Stay”
Very good rate for a deluxe suite room on the 30th room. Booked 21 or more days before arrival. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. We booked two day tours through the hotel and every time we came back from the tour they would call us and asked us how the tour went. The room was very modern and the internet speed was very good for video Skype calls. I would recommend getting a room on the upper floors since you can still hear the horns from the traffic below on the east side of the 30th floor. The room was very clean. We will be back again, since the location was very convenient. Did not get a chance to eat at the hotel, since we ate out each day. A very good bakery is down the street (west) or a right out the front lobby doors and just next to the Grand Cinema. It is called 85cafe . Good prices for the coffee and bakery goods. The common areas of the hotel were nice and the elevators worked very good. Will be back to this the hotel for sure.
“Good location but not worth the extra $$”
I stayed at the Radisson New World (2 nights) after staying at the Marriot Courtyard for 2 nights. I changed because I had originally only booked for two nights and the rate was going to go way up for an extension. I thought the Radisson was going to be an upgrade but I ended up disappointed. The Marriot had free internet use in the lobby on fast PC's with large widescreen monitors and the waitresses nearby serve up reasonably priced drinks while you surf. The Marriot had a much more relaxed and friendly vibe. The Radisson has mediocre PC's which cost 40RMB for each 15 minutes - ouch! I ordered a Perrier in the lobby bar and it cost me 100RMB -- double ouch. The room as the Radisson was nice but frankly I liked the full glass enclosure shower in the Marriot Courtyard better. The Radisson is close to Peoples Square but the Marriot is a 5 minutes subway ride away. And the Marriot is close to the Shanghai Train Station if you intend to get out of town. If I go back, the I will not stay at the Radisson.
“Convenient location”
Friendly staff and good location near subway station and many attractions.
“It is worth spending extra to get a suite!”
We had a Deluxe Suite with park view. It is well worth spending that extra to get a good room. The space is great and the view at night can only be described as "Christmas Tree gone mad" - simply brilliant. I won't recommend taking the buffet breakfast, when the hotel is located at the heart of Shanghai's premium food street. Just go to the BACK of the hotel and eat... Cheap Eat! Or if you after fine breakfast, just hop on the No. 2 Metro Train and go one station to Peace Hotel for breakfast by the Bund. The hotel is great for it's location, it is on top of the junction of no. 1, 2 and 8 line. Walking distance to Bund or French Concession ( or just a station away). My advice, go for the suite with the view... Don't bother with breakfast and enjoy the location.
“ok but bet there is better”
We stayed at the Raddison over new year, good central location. Hotel was clean and modern. Food was expensive but the restaurant at the top was worth doing. Only let downs were we booked for 2 Adults and 1 child and they gave us a room with one (very) large bed but with a child that fidgets was not good for the jetlag!! Also my husband was hassled in the lift by a prostitute when he returned alone when going out to get something. We had a goodtime but wouldnt stay there again.
“Great location, comfortable rooms and good facilities”
The hotel is situated absolutely centrally facing People's Park and within meters of the main shopping area. It is a top end business hotel so is a little impersonal but this is compensated for by the excellent gym, pool and spa facilities. The restaurant is fine but breakfast is a ludicrous price and not worth the money. The Chinese Restaurant is very high quality but obviously more expensive than food outside... fine for a special occasion. The room was well appointed and comfortable. Internet access was free. and the TV included HBO. Do not use the concierge service for trips. The quoted price for two to travel just outside the city was over 100 times public transport rates and over three times taxi rates.Use the metro for travel around town, its easy, fast and convenient.
“Great location”
We decided to go for the Club Room and were not disappointed. Had a fantastic view from our room, and every night when we could we went up to the Business Lounge and had free drinks and food. The ladies were fantastic and couldn't do enough to help us, with dinner bookings and directions . Would be happy to go back when we are there next,
