Not at all up to the expectations

Posted 09-Oct-2014
Pros: Restaurant Indochine (expensive but correct).
Cons: Everything: cleanliness, staff atention and skills, customer focus... The only thing which is at luxury level in this hotel is the price.
We went to Kempinski Seychelles Resort for two nights prior to our flight back home, after one week in Praslin. We booked through expedia 2 months in advance. We received the first communication from them via e-mail only when we had already landed in Mahe and we were in a taxi from the airport, telling us that they can organize our transfer from the airport if we advise them 24h in advance. We got to the reception and they took us to our room by buggy. The baggage did not arrive until 45 minutes after. In the meantime, we realised that we had asked for a King Size Bed and we had a room with two beds. After calling the reception, they sent a housekeeper who changed the mattress and converted the beds into a single King Size Bed. Outside the room we had two chairs, one deck chair (should we take turns or lay one on top of the other?) and a lot of cigarrette butts on the floor, plus a cigar butt only half consumed. We decided to stay inside the room... We had dinner in the Cafe Lazare. The waiter took more than 30 minutes to bring us two beers; we almost had finished the buffet dinner. And when asked for the bill, he took us the bill of another table. The day after, breakfast was not better. It took them also 20 min to bring us coffee. The final chapter of the nightmare was the 30 min wait in the morning for the receptionist to print a copy of the credit card bill. The money had already been debited, but she made us wait anyway. Awful hotel, never to return again.

Amazing hotel, private beach, very friendly staff

Posted 03-Oct-2014
Pros: Fantastic
We stayed here for a week and had the most amazing time. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, real 5 star luxury. Located in a secluded part, it has its own private beach, with direct access from our room. The staff is extremely helpful, especially the gym instructor who gives personal lessons on request, and the babysitters at the kids club who took care of our boys each morning. The hotel has several cuisine options, which made things easier because we didn't leave the resort to go out and eat for 7 days.

Awesome hotel

Great resort with awesome facilities and program. The hotel has its own schedule of daily activity e.g. walk, run, yoga and etc. Kayaking equipment were available free of charge. Windsong Bar was a great place to eat.

Not even a 4 star

Posted 06-Apr-2014
Pros: food
Cons: everything, but for starters, hire properly trained staff
Location: kayak to another beach to actually swim
The clientele were very sketchy, the staff do not understand 5 star hospitality, I would not recommend this place to anyone. You can't swim anywhere because of all the rocks. There's a dress code for the men to eat at the restaurants, which are outdoor but women can wear shorts showing their butt cheeks. Many if not most of the guests where there for free...so it's not a family friendly place if you know what I mean.

Relaxation Vacation

Posted 27-Mar-2014
Pros: The beach, the breakfast. the location. the staff attitude
Cons: The WIFI strength. the access to the WIFI until customers leave to airport. more lighting in the rooms. lower dinner cost. building another pool.
Location: only walking and swimming. The things to do are very limited.
It is relaxing stay. we enjoyed the beach. it is quite humid . the main restaurant did not have air conditioning.

Save up and go for truly special experience....

I like to think that I'm an experienced traveller, there was nothing I disliked about this hotel. Staff were attentive, smiley, friendly. Facilities, location and environs reached a very high standard of comfort. There is nothing I can fault about this hotel. We had a ground floor room which enabled us to leave our beds, and stroll into the Indian Ocean in an instant. Fab!xxx GO, GO, GO.

Kempinski Seychelles Resort

Posted 26-Dec-2013
Pros: The hotel grounds and scenic surroundings.
Cons: Recognition of Expedia Elite members. Additionally, when there are mice in a person's room, some form of compensation should be given!
Location: Nice location with a few beaches, good diving and some shops and restaurants nearby.
Stayed there over the Christmas vacation (Dec 2013). Overall, the beach and pool were very nice and the hotel grounds were quite lovely. It was also nice having a dive center on site. Some of the problems we encountered were mice in our first room. We were moved to a similar room, but that was a major hassle. In addition, the food prices at the resort are exorbitantly expensive.

Great location

Beach front rooms are very nice and having good size. Hotel has good location. Beach was very mice for snorkeling, however lot of sharp rocks are making it not very good for kids swimming (unless wearing dedicated shoes). Main restaurant is just OK, but need to have a better coffee... I enjoyed my stay...
