“Friendly, convenient and extremely comfortable”
A great apartment hotel in a good area. Easy to reach by airport bus. Expedia name this place as Yeoksam Artnouveau City, but in fact locally it's called Artnouveau City I as there are 3 similarly named hotels in the area. The suite had a fully equipped kitchenette area tucked behind folding cupboard doors. This included a washing machine, electric hob, rice cooker and sink. There was also a substantial sized fridge/freezer. The decor was as you would expect from a place named art-nouveau! Lots of period style mirrors and furniture. The bathroom was small, but had a great shower. The living area was comfortable with large screen tv and plenty of desk space for working. It could be shut off from the bedroom area using sliding doors. Throughout the suite there was plenty of cupboards - you could almost move in! The bed was super-comfortable and all in all I don't have anything to fault this place on. It is located a 5 minute walk from two subway stops, although I spent much time walking into the central area of Gangnam.
“It was acceptable.”
LIKES -room had a washing machine -room had a kitchenette -sauna on premises -hotel staff were pleasant DISLIKES -fitness center was small -shower in the room was a bit small -no room service available -hallway had cigarette odor -no safe in the room -no face cloths in bathroom
“Excellent service”
Great little hotel, very Korean style, ideal business location.
“A Good Choice”
The hotel is an hour drive by bus from the airport. It was a bit far but provided a chance to see the city from the freeway. The hotel itself is stylish, clean, and the staff is very friendly. The room was clean and very comfortable. The surrounding neighborhood offers everything I wanted. There was new shops and behind the hotel was a more traditional neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bars for going out at night. That was very cool. The subway was close and easily accessible. I would definitely stay here again.
“Serviced Apartment in Seoul”
Art Neaveau is like a hotel but is actually a serviced apartment. Clean and convenient, with not just 1 bed but a second bed upstairs, so great for a group. For large foreigners however, the toilet and shower are very cramped making movement in and out a hassle. For a long stay, the apartment is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, pots pans, rice cooker etc. Plenty of wardrobe space, good strong air conditioner for hot weather and a great buffet breakfast combining Korean and Western cuisine. The gym is small but does the job Laundry service is cheap and efficient and the surrounding area is convenient for getting around Seoul by subway. The nearest subway is Seolung on the green line and Seoul subways are very efficient with all stations coded according to line and position on the line. Across the road is the Rennaiscance Hotel and KAL busses depart from just outside every 30 minutes. One downside is the small number of elevators (only 2 elevators) servicing such a big building means a lot of waiting and elevators stop at almost every floor. I found the internet service variable, good on some days and substandard on others. This is a major drawback for people in business. I recommend this hotel for longer stays where you want to have a bas to operate from, but make sure the hotel knows how important internet access is to you.
“All good except the location”
We had a suite. If you've got a crowd to bring, ie) a family, this hotel will work great. Among the perks are laundry, and a cool little loft area that kids would love. they would have to sleep on the floor and it's a little dangerous going up and down, but it's still extra space that could be used wisely. The con about this hotel is that it is too far away from the subway stop. 7 minutes in either direction. This is too far of a walk for me. It was pouring rain when i was there and i ended up taking taxi everywhere.
“Awesome Staff”
Great staff and excellent service.
“Old style, Modern features”
This hotel blends some traditional Korean style with Japanese influences (to meet those guests expectations) with modern convenience. In what may feel strange to a travelor accustomed to 4 and 5 star international business hotels, the rooms have about 12 foot ceilings, a bed area with sliding doors, enormous closets with drawers, and pants racks. There is a loft with a futon sleeping area in it as well, a sitting area (with older, somewhat worn sofa, not too comfortable) with flat panel tv. Nice bathroom, though tight quarters. A large person may not be able to fit into the shower and get the door closed behind them easily. But finely appointed and very clean. There is a kitchenette too. Wired internet at cost extra per day a drawback because other hotels in this category have free wireless. One drawback is lack of desk space to work at. Miniscule space really, so not recommended for business travel, though many who stayed there were business people. I got the room at an internet special rate or I would not likely have stayed there at full price.
“It was good enough for Ulaan Baatar and meet my needs. The massage-spa was good. Breakfast was good.”
An older hotel and not what I expected from a Kempinski. It was friendly, safe and clean.
“Absolutely in love with this hotel.”
My partner and I booked a crystal suite for 4 nights and it simply wasn't enough. The room made me feel like a princess and when the sun shined in through the tall drapes onto the bed I couldn't think of anywhere I'd rather be. The hotel was warm, which in the middle of winter is very important and I was ecstatic that I could have the window open without freezing to death. The bed was comfortable, the loft was a novelty, the shower-head was a luxury and the washing machine/dryer was extremely useful. Also, the hotel staff had no problem with holding our luggage after we had already checked out and they allowed us to use the computers after this time too. I have learned something valuable from our 4 night stay in Artnouveau...not to listen wholeheartedly to the reviews I find on the internet, since many faulted this wonderful hotel. Some people are pickier than me obviously but maybe they paid more than I did...I booked this hotel at a special rate.
