“Good Hotel, Nice Location & Subway Access, Forgot to Clean Room 2 Days out of 6”

Stayed 6 nights, 5 days in October 2011. Very nice location with subway access in basement to Lines 5 and 6. Nice mall with restaurants, shops, and supermarket in basement as well. Everything in good shape and comfortable. Wired internet access, no wireless, but no problem. However, housekeeping staff forgot to clean the room 2 nights out of the 6. I had to call and request it on those 2 days. 1 of them, they never came, the other they eventually did. All said, I would certainly stay there again, but just stay on top of them about housekeeping.

“Impressed”

I was, initially, surprised at the quality of the hotel since I didn't expect to book a high class hotel. This Lotte city hotel in Mapo is a gold tinted/colored twin hotel attached to its long term rentals, and I'd make sure the taxi driver is aware of this new campus of Lotte hotel chain. My attraction to the hotel, before actually seeing it, was its convenient location to the subway system (a subway station is located below the hotel), its own grocery store, and restaurants. One of the new noodle shops within the hotel's grocery store was great. Mapo is a business district and I could easily walk to one of the beautiful Han river bridges that has a bike trail below/side of the bridge. Although I had to mention to the front desk about overly eager housekeepers that do not always respect the "do not disturb" sign and clean up the room anyway, the hotel staff were generally very friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay at Lotte city hotel in Mapo again.

“Great hotel”

The Lotte was a fantastic hotel stay. The location is very convenient (right above the Gongdeok Metro Station (exit 2) with a Lotte grocery store and a number of restaurants in-between and an airport limousine bus stop right outside (about 50 minutes to Incheon Airport). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and entire hotel was very clean. The hotel is only a few metro stops from Seoul Station and Namdaemun Market.

“Too far from the 'action'.”

I made a mistake while booking and was expecting to stay at the more central Lotte Seoul Hotel so was a bit disappointed but totally my fault. The hotel was clean, staff friendly however we wouldn't stay there again because of the distance from where we actually wanted to stay. Restaurant dinner buffet was very average with not much of a selection and luke warm food.

“Good location for Airport Bus, restaurant and subway”

It took about 1hr 30min (depends on traffic) to get to the hotel from Incheon Airport. Either Bus # 6015 or KAL gets to Lotte City. Announcement is made for each bus stop. When you get off the bus, the hotel is across the street. Take the escalator to the hotel reception which is on 2nd flr. The staff speaks good English. We got our room on 6th flr. The room is very clean and the bathroom is very roomy. There is both a bathtub and shower stand. Internet connection was okay, sometimes it was slow and sometime it was fine. Underneathe the hotel is where you could find supermarket, shops,& dozens of restuarnts such as sushi, Korean dumplings, ginseng chicken & BBQ etc. The staff at the restuarants don't speak English. They speak Korean of course, and a very few speaks Mandarin. The menu shows pictures of the food, so it is not problem to order food. The MTR (Subway) is underneathe the hotel. You will fine Line 5 & 6. If you are plainng to go to many locations, please get a Seoul CityPass from the Vending Machine at the MRT station, it is cheap,easy & fast to get around Seoul. The subway is super clean. The most expensive fare for us was 1400won = USD 1.40. When you get out of the hotel, the bus stop including KAL and Bus 6015 is on the left. KAL costs 15000Won and Bus 6015 costs about 10000 - 12000 won. KAL is more luxurious w leather seat similar to the business seat on the flight. Our stay was very comfortable, I will book this hotel again.

“5 Star Hotel at price of 4 Star”

I' ve been traveling to more than 25 countries and what I can say about this hotel is: - the cleanest room in a 4 Star Hotel I've ever staid. - lot of gadgets in the room very helpful. - kind of place you have not to ask for info or help. It is all there. - convenient located above Metro Station and Shopping Mall. - complimentary bottles of water were in my room every day, heater/air conditioner possible to control inside the room. Only point to be improved is the temperature of the swimming pool, in my opinion, it would be hotter.

“Clean and convienient, but a little pricy for rooms with one bed”

The hotel was clean and beautiful, decorated with Christmas lights on the outside and stylishly furnished inside. The beds were soft and comfortable, the bathrooms were state of the art. The views out our windows were wide and enjoyable cityscapes. The top floors of the hotel are actually private appartments and because of the this, the bottom floors contain a supermaket, coffee shop, restaurants, etc. The subway is literally right out the front door and so easy to catch. My only complaint is that the rooms only come with one double or a double/single set up. They are expensive for small rooms. Also we asked for an extra cot or blankets for a third person and they told us we would have to pay extra! Plenty of other hotels provide this free of charge. I would recommend it but I think you can find cheaper and just as nice elsewhere.
