“Classic Korean 5 Star”
The Imperial Palace is a very nice Korean style hotel. Lots of dark wood, beautiful furniture, lovely lobby, excellent service. It has an asian emphasis that may may be slightly unfamiliar to americans but is one of the nicest hotels in Seoul that I have stayed in..
“WILL BE BACK WITH FAMILY NEXT YEAR”
IT WAS MY 3RD TIME BACK AND AS USUAL IT WAS AWSOME ALL AROUND STAYING AT THE IMPERIAL PALACE. GREAT PEOPLE WORKING THERE. ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND POLITE. I WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND TO OTHERS WHO'S TRAVELING TO KOREA. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!
“Imperial Palace Seoul”
Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in May. From check in to check out could not fault it. The staff are extremely polite and can't do enough for you. It's well worth spending the extra for a club room as this includes a great breakfast in the club lounge as well as "happy hour" from 1800 - 2100 which includes all drinks and snacks. They do afternoon refreshments from 12 also with snacks which are a bit basic but if you are spending that much time in the hotel you are missing out on so much. As for location although it's in Gangam district south of the river and downtown Seoul, Hakdong underground station is two minutes walk away and there are frequent trains to take you all over the city. One further thing is transport from the airport to hotel is best done using the KAL limousine bus as its cheap, easy to find and frequent and will drop you at the hotel door.
“truly Imperial Palace”
a happy chance that we got an unexpected upgrade to a duplex suite but without the privileges of the clubroom which is perfectly fine considering the fair price paid for the room through Expedia website

Delightful Experience! The service was excellent and the staff was very helpful when I had questions or needed assistance.
“A Grand Hotel”
The Imperial Hotel is a landmark in Seoul and a fantastic place to stay. Everything is top quality and the service is the best. It is a bit pricey but it is in Seoul. I highly recommend this Hotel.
“Amazing, great rate from Expedia and even better than a Four Seasons.”
The Imperial was a wonderful surprise. Got an amazing rate from Expedia, and a wonderful plush, five star refurbished room, definitely better than the usual, even at a Four Seasons. The very best part of our stay was the way above-the-usual service provided by a wonderful young lady named Susan at Guest Services (aka concierge). That class of service was totally in a league of it’s own, and made a world of difference. She spoke fluent Korean and English and I don’t think that Bill Gates gets better care at most hotels. The hotel has an $65/head buffet dinner. Steep, but turned out to be worth the price. A choice of dishes from all over the world, and all excellent. The cab driver was confused as to where the hotel was located, so it’s a good idea to get the address written down ahead of time in Korean. So, thanks to Susan and Expedia, by far the best place we have stayed in for a long time.
“Great weekend”
The Imperial Palace was on the opposite side of the river from the city itself and therefore a taxi or subway ride from all the main attrractions. I did not find the subway at all, and as my stay was short was happy to use taxis which were reasonably priced. The hotel was chintzy, olde world style decor but very comfortable, warm and enjoyable. However, the price quoted for breakfast was way too much for my budget which is always important for me to consider. I would recommend this hotel to others but emphasis these slight drawbacks.
“Horrendous first night - better second”
the low scores were based on first night - the hotel had beautiful reception and the second room was lovely but the first room was disgusting!
“Chintzy Hotel - Will Come Back”
From the second you walk in, the Euro-inspired decor hits you. A little chintzy, but overall very nice. Make sure to get a renovated room, didn't see the older rooms but based on other reviews, I signed up for their hotel loyalty program and received a free upgrade. As a program member, you also receive complimentary early check-in/late check-out. Very nice if you have a late flight out of Incheon. It's a business hotel, so lots of foreigners. Hotel staff is cordial and many can speak English. Located 5 minutes from the nearest subway station, it's conveniently situated. Takes 20 minutes to cross the river into Gangbuk. Be sure to check out the 3 Hofs/fried chicken joints located on the way to the Hakdong subway station, they're open till 5am daily!
