“Very Comfortable”

My husband & I were there or 3 nights. The bed was very comfortable, which is important for us as we both have back problems. Staff is top notch - very friendly. Gym was amazing - just sad that we didn't have the time to use it more. Highly recommend it!

“Good hotel with fantastic pool”

Hotel is nice, staff helpful and pool/gym area very impressive. The hotel seems a bit outdated overall but everything was very clean and our room was huge with a comfortable (if a bit firm) bed. The main attraction of the Grand Intercontinental has to be the pool - it's huge and never got too busy or crowded. The gym will provide you an entire outfit, including shoes, if you don't have your workout gear. Hotel was also very conveniently located as it is connected to the Coex mall, the city air link terminal and the Samsung subway station. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Area recommendations

Samcheong-dong was a lovely little area with old buildings and tons of local coffee shops. Great area to wander around and get lost in the hills and winding streets.

Dining

Mad for Garlic, next to the Coex Interncontinental is DELICIOUS. Everything is covered in loads of garlic. The bread tower (hot bread topped with garlic puree), spinach salad with bacon and garlic chips and the mussles were our favorite dishes. We loved it so much we went twice even though we were only in Seoul for three days. Watch out for the spice though - anything with a chili pepper next to it on the menu is going to be hot! Also recommend Tadak, which is a Korean barbecue restaurant on a side street near the Hongdae district. The meat was flavorful and tender and the servings are very generous. Only ten tables so very cozy with wonderful staff.

“Nice hotel, but coex mall was disappointing”

The hotel looks good, the service was good also. Coex mall, the complex where the hotel is situated was a disappointment. Shops open late and close early, many of the shops are unknown and merchandise wasn't nice. If you intend to do shopping, this place is not recommended. But if you have a convention to attend at coex, then this hotel is excellent.

Area recommendations

Lotte world vicinity is highly recommended.

“Expensive, but nice”

Neat, clean, professional, well-kept rooms, beds and bathroom. Certainly worth the stay for the price they charge. They should certainly consider free wireless for a high end hotel in their class.

“It's worth the money”

I travel about 125K miles a year and so stay at many, many hotels. The Intercontinental Grand is certainly within the 95 percentile of hotels I've stayed at. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. They are also aesthetically pleasing which is important to me. The service is fast and courteous. The in-room dining food tastes pretty good as well. Best of all this hotel is part of the Coex underground mall which is perfect for winters. The mall is huge, goes on for blocks, and being able to go in and out of the mall without going outside is extremely convenient. It's worth the price.

“Best hotel in Seoul”

I was tired after wedding and I just needed a night at the hotel. Speedy check-in/ check-out and very comfy room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Korea. The dining facilities and amenities near COEX is just great as well. On top of that being located near the COEX airport bus terminal is icing on the cake not to mention the new duty free shops near the hotel.

Area recommendations

I would recommend northern river side of Seoul (Gangbuk area) around insadong or gwanhwamun.

“nice hotel”

This was a nice hotel. Staff spoke/understands English. Could walk to mail and subway through the basement. The surrounding area was nice and clean.

Area recommendations

Stayed in this area at first, then changed to Iteawan. this area had more options such as restaurants and shops (other than the mall) Both areas are over 1 hour from airport. Traffic was heavy. Trip to hotel took 3 hours, not 1 1/2 as it said in the bus information, but this was due to rain and traffic.

“Best hotel to stay in Seoul”

I always stay at this hotel. Duty free store is right by, the huge mall is connected to the hotel, including underground COEX. Close to the airport terminal center where you can check in your luggage and catch the airport shuttle bus. entertainment such as movie theater, concert hall, subway station, is right by the hotel. If you question, you can just call concierge, they go out of their way to assist you. Can't wait to go back... best hotel experience ever.

very close by malls, subway stations, also Lotte world. has COEX museums, concert halls, movie theaters, aquarium... perfect for tour, shopping, eating out, transporation is convenient as well.

Getting around

walking is ok and subway is ok and taking taxi right infront of the hotel is fine too.

“THE BEST SERVICE HOTEL IN ASIA”

ON MY ARRIVAL ALL THE PAPERWORK WAS READY, THE STAFF WAS VERY VERY FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS AND EAGER TO HELP. TO MAKE MY POINT, MY FLIGHT WAS LEAVING EARLY A.M. AND I WANTED TO CHECK MY EMAIL AT 6 A.M. WHEN THE BUSINESS CENTER WAS CLOSED. THE FRONT DESK OFFERED THEIR COMPUTER AND OFFERED TO PRINT MY MESSAGES, IF NEEDED! IT WAS OUT OF THEIR WAY TO HELP ME AND SHOWS THE DEDICATION TO HELP THE GUESTS NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES!!!!

“2nd Honeymoon”

We had stayed at the Club Junior Suite. Room: The size of the room was 50% bigger than the standard room with enough drawers to put away all of my belongings. The mattress was very comfortable and we slept really well. Bathroom: The bathroom lighting was too low for me to do makeup so I had to use the sauna downstairs. The bathroom size is pretty small relative to the room size. Club benefits: This is one of the best club benefits you can ask for if you have a good appetite in the morning. The hotel gives you an option to have breakfast at the club lounge or at the grand kitchen (buffet) that features some good variety for you to choose. The food that the club lounge offers is somewhat disappointing when compared to other club lounges in Seoul hotels. However, when you ask for morning call they actually come and wake you up with coffee and newspaper... Not bad....
