The villa has a wounderful view surounded by padi field. We have had our breakfast looking across the padi field. It was a great feeling and we have a good time. But the villa is very warm during our stay there. I think it is good for people living in the village as well as people who is cool. The villa rooms can be very warm in the day and night, especially when one want to catch a good sleep. It would be perfect if all rooms are airconditioned. Otherwise it would be perfect. And it would be fun if you know how to ride a bike as it is about 20 mins by foot to get a transport.
Incorrect address on Expedia voucher. Hotel is miles away from where it is shown on your map. Arrived at hotel at 8pm after walking 1.5km from main road, the last 300 mtrs up a very steep footpath no car access bike only, then across rice paddy to what we expected to be hotel, to be told we were booked at their sister property. After 40 mins a vehicle was to meet us at the bottom of hill to go to the correct villa. This hotel is 12 minutes drive from Ubud, not walking distance at all. On arrival staff blamed Expedia re wrong info. There are 3 villas here with private pool, kitchenette was filthy with absolutely no utensils .No plates, cups etc not even a spoon. No kettle to boil water. Nothing, just a dirty sink and a working fridge.. TV - no cable. Indonesian TV very poor reception. Water views was a dirty tiled pond with maximum 3cm water in parts. Next door to Bali Cultural Centre carpark (not the rice paddies advertised) so buses and loud noises all day. On day 4 we noticed people going upstairs to the locked bedroom, and found that they were moving in a lady (who also thought she had a private pool villa) without telling either of us, so back to office to sort it out. She had had the same problem going to other hotel etc etc (and had booked thru another company) This is a very bad situation which needs addressing.
Loved this hotel. It's only 6 rooms, so it feels like a very private experience. Other reviews mention or complain about the walk to the hotel, but that never bothered us. If needed, the hotel gives you a local cell phone and you can call and have them pick you up and take you back into town on scooters. VERY peaceful location, although the practice of building in the rice fields needs to be slowed down, if not stopped altogether.
My most minor observation was that the room was a bit on the smaller side.
At first I did not want to review these villas as I wanted to keep it a secret....
But the staff and resort deserve to be praised . This is a wonderful resort - only 8 Villas
It is your own slice of heaven . Close enough to town to walk or hire a scooter and tour the streets and restaurants further afield . Very friendly and professional staff make you feel like your at home without intruding
First off, Ketut himself is incredibly helpful and sweet. We arrived very late since our taxi driver didn't know where he was going, and Ketut was available and ready to help. He saw we were all pretty sweaty and tired, and offered to switch our rooms to air-conditioning for only a few dollars extra a night. the home stay is beautiful all around; lush gardens, beautiful pool and beautiful traditional balinese decorations. The family is all incredibly helpful and make you feel very at home. The breakfast was wonderful as well as the amenities offered by Ketut. Unfortunately we booked a few of our excursions before we knew what they had to offer, and ended up spending more than we would have with Ketut.
