The Hotel de Bourgtheroulde gets an A from us. Its location in the very heart of Rouen made for a great experience. The main street of the old city with its major attractions was literally at the corner. The sophisticated old building, with its totally pristine and modern interior, gave us both charm and comfort. There were lots of restaurants nearby, and even a Monoprix, where we picked up some snack/fruit supplies. There were valet parking, exercise and spa facilities, and a pool. Because we were only there for one night, and wanted to take maximum time for history, we did not use the spa. Although a little more expensive than some hotels, the experience and convenience were worth it for us. We would definitely stay there if we are in Rouen again.
A very pleasing surprise ending to our short trip to Normandy. We loved our room which had lovely view to the sea. The staff were all very friendly. It is a short walk into the town, yet very peaceful. I wish we could have stayed longer. Charming and tranquil.

My wife and I visited the Dormy House as part of a long weekend break. The cost of the two nights there were more than we usually spend in France, but was comparable to the Parador hotels that we have enjoyed in Spain. The hotel is dramatically situated on a headland above a pebbled beach and our room enjoyed a view (just) of the sea and on the second day of some surfers taking advantage of some significant, pre-storm breakers.
We had two meals in the hotel restaurant, both memorable, the first night from the menu and the second from the carte. They provided some very good fish, and on the second night I had a perfectly cooked fillet steak which was too big for me to quite finish. Service was prompt and polite - nearly friendly - and in France!

The hotel is very close to the AutoRoute but don't let that put you off - there was no road noise - and easy to find. It is situated rather eccentrically in the middle of an industrial estate but that just means that its very quiet at night. Reception staff speak fluent English having lived in Ireland and Australia and are very welcoming.
The hotel is excellent value and I would certainly stay again.
