We took a privileged room and everything was perfect. Very clean, spacious, beverages in the fridge, etc.

Nice hotel downtown

Posted 17-Jul-2014
This hotel is very modern and you can expect great service. When we checked in around 5 PM, the lady at the desk was very friendly and helpful. We were made to feel welcome, even though it was obvious we were from another country. I highly recommend Mercure Hotels as we had a similar experience in Paris. In summary, good location, modern facilities and great service.

Definitely not a 4 star

Comfy room, basic but clean. Basic for a 4 star. Food and breakfast expensive, and below average. Tv didnt work. Staff were friendly and helpful though.

Coffee pot

Posted 10-Jun-2014
Pros: Close to the cruise ports, and within walking distance of everything, if in reasonable health.
Couldn't get the in-room coffee pot to work, and staff couldnt either, but they provided coffee from the bar for free.

Between Honfleur and Etretat

Posted 17-Sep-2013
Pros: Large comfortable room plus good location
Cons: Window opened but it as quite small; ventilation could be improved
Location: Walk to restaurants. A short drive to the Museum of Impressionists.
Le Havre is a perfect stopover between the Seine and the villages along The Channel. And the Mercure is a good choice to spend a night. Restaurants (many) are good and within walking distance. The marketplace is, as well. Parking on the street was metered but plentiful and not expensive. The room was very large. CNN and BBC News on TV, as well as free WIFI.

Nice hotel

Posted 27-May-2013
Pros: Comfortable bed. Fine sheets. Great breakfast.
Cons: Expensive breakfast.
Arrived late and exhausted and found a haven in the hotel. Also it was within walking distance of our cruise ship.

Hotel was good, presented as advertised. Breakfast was not include, is expensive, but offers substantially more than most "continental" breakfasts. Le Havre itself was demolished during the war, and what is presented now as rebuilt is neo-soviet concrete construction. Stay in Honfleur.

Not 4 Star

Posted 31-Mar-2013
Pros: Staff
Cons: Catering......just wanted coffee and croissant but required to pay for full continental breakfast-
Location: For us very convenient for docks and concert location
The Reception staff were very helpful and the room adequate, however, the photograph on expedia was desceptive with the building behind the hotel making it look like it was five times bigger ! This hotel does not deserve its four star rating in terms of the catering and general facilities.

Sleep very well here

Posted 12-Oct-2012
Pros: The dark curtains in the room. We slept until 8 with not a hint of daylight creeping in.
Cons: I found myself wanting the cheaper breakfast option but unable to learn which table was for which, despite asking. Breakfast included organics.
Location: It was very quiet, midway between the harbor and the train station. A pedestrian shopping mall was nearby with additional food options.
We had hoped to book closer to the train station, but booking problems brought us here instead. Perhaps it was all timing, but we seemed to be hunting for food as many places were closing. I was disappointed not to find a patisserie open on our walks. It was an easy walk back to the train/bus station and were so happy we were able to take our day trip to Honfleur.
