Staying here is a real experience. We arrived on a Sun afternoon and the staff were really helpful. It's really central and close to remarkable medieval churches and cathedrals. About 5 mins walk from the square (can't remember the name) with all the restaurants. I read the earlier review regarding the rooms. It's a few hundred years old! What do you expect? Yes the floors slightly slope and the magnificent staircase is a little steep. Eh.... that's because it's a beautifully preserved historical building. If you want perfectly linear walls and industrial beige carpet, go and stay in some hideous modern box-like Eurosomethingorother hotel and revel in its soulless silence. I'd definitely return to the Morand.

The Hotel de Bourgtheroulde gets an A from us. Its location in the very heart of Rouen made for a great experience. The main street of the old city with its major attractions was literally at the corner. The sophisticated old building, with its totally pristine and modern interior, gave us both charm and comfort. There were lots of restaurants nearby, and even a Monoprix, where we picked up some snack/fruit supplies. There were valet parking, exercise and spa facilities, and a pool. Because we were only there for one night, and wanted to take maximum time for history, we did not use the spa. Although a little more expensive than some hotels, the experience and convenience were worth it for us. We would definitely stay there if we are in Rouen again.
Location and price are the only things that help this place. It was not a pleasant experience. I will never stay again. My experiences from other similar priced hotels were far better, perhaps it is the location within city.
Good value for money. Room was adequate. Wi-fi was fine. It's not as close to the train station as I believed from the description (2 minutes !) It was 20 minutes walk. The area is a bit rum (no decent restaurants / cafe's) ; it's necessary to go to centreville or "The Docks" - each 20 minutes walk.
Very short stay. Dinner not served at hotel, so luckily ascertained this information at last moment and stopped off in cafe for dinner before arrival. Very polite and helpful welcome, suitcase carried, and shown to clean, spacious, quiet bedroom.
Delicious breakfast and attentive staff.
Just a good, quality hotel with simple but efficient service.

Tucked away among the narrow streets of Rouen we missed the hotel twice before finding it. Parking is provided and very useful. Inside is a modern hotel with friendly staff. We were lucky to get a top floor room and it was great to look over roof tops. Simple mod cons were provided, kettle, fridge, wifi, tv and was perfect for our one night stay. The cathedral is just two minutes from the hotel entrance and perfect to explore the narrow shopping streets. There's a boulangerie on the opposite corner that sells some very good bread if you wanted an alternative breakfast.
Arrived at hotel and greeted by unfriendly man that couldn't even raise a smile. Once in room it was ok but very hot at night as no aircon and being on ground floor it didn't feel safe enough to have window open.
On arriving at 6.00 pm we asked to eat on restaurant only to be told it doesn't open at weekend, we were told that there were restaurants jus yup the road at near by shopping centre but they were shut, so drove around until we found Courte Paille a very nice grill restaurant with English menus.
Breastfast at almost 10 euros was rubbish with just croissants, cereal, ham, chesse and some fruit. Certainly wasn't worth the money. I stayed at an Ibis hotel in Rouen 2 weeks earlier and all they they charged the same the choice was far greater and worth the money.
I would never stay here again
