When we arrived we were acknowledged rather than welcomed but we weren't checked in ie. confirmation of T&Cs and check out times, etc. We were told breakfast was in the lounge from 7.30am. Unfortunately we didn't realise breakfast wasn't included, in our bill, which led to difficulties on check-out. On being taken to our room we were asked fairly curtly to keep the noise down as our next door neighbours were an elderly couple. Our 5yr old son and 9yr old daughter were excited at being in the hotel but were not making a racket. So not really child friendly then...! The management clearly didn't have the wit to check a young family into a room away from guests who object to a bit of regular hotel noise and traffic - instead we were made to feel like we weren't welcome! Then came check out: we were asked to pay for breakfast, which at €50 euros for two adults and 2 small children was a shock, especially as we thought it was included and there was no price information on the table or in our room. As we hadn't been checked-in properly I suggested we split the difference. The young manager was unhappy about this reiterating we'd all had b'fast - despite the fact my son had only had a glass of milk and tiny pastry and my partner had only had a pot of tea. the manager finally agreed to splitting the bill but it was a very uncomfortable conversation. FYI - You can't eat dinner in the hotel, there's no tea and coffee in the room., just a small fridge with mini-bar contents.
