"First Disneyland Paris Trip - will not be the last"
Don't go the weekend before Christmas! It was still great, but parks got very busy. Fortunately, staying in the Disneyland hotel gets you access to the parks from 8am, two hours before they are open to the general public. WELL worth getting up early for this. We could walk straight on to any of the rides (but be warned, not all rides are open in both parks at this time). It was fine for us though.
Book dinner well in advance - and be prepared for the cost - it is NOT cheap.
But, we had a great night at the California Grill on the Friday night. Then we booked Waltz for the Saturday night as it was close to the Xmas finale. Booked for 8pm (show at 10pm). We were 8 minutes late....and didn't get seated until 9. Needless to say, we had not finished our meals, and could not have got anywhere near the parade by the time we finished at 10:15. Very upset we missed the show. Very snotty receptionist - we couldn't even get a drink downstairs as the bar was upstairs and we didn't have a table yet!! I am sure the world would have ended had they brought the drinks downstairs. So, go to Disneyland, do not go to Waltz. It was a shame as the food was actually quite good.
No offer of any kind of goodwill gesture or apology either! Maybe just a bad night, but the quality of a place is measured by how well it does when things are not going well, not when everything is running smoothly. We tried not to let it spoil our trip. Just wont eat there next time! Nor should you! ;-)

I was surprised how good the Explorer Hotel was - we were a little worried by some of the reviews. Our son has many complex food allergies which the staff were all aware of and they provide separate food for him at dinner time - not rubbish allergy food but proper salmon, chicken or cod with vegetables and rice or potatoes - and large portions. A special thanks to Patrick Pichon who took our long list of food allergies and found out what we could and couldn't eat for breakfast and dinner, he also greeted us on arrival and made sure Fabien ( dinner manager who was also fabulous) and Gael (the breakfast manager) knew who we were and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. They also provided us with a fridge in our room 5 mins after arrival because we had to carry special milk and margarine.
The room was great and our 3 year old loved the bunk beds - we were ment to have a 4 bed Crew room but they left the door open to the adjoining room which had another bunk bed in it and another flat screen tv. The room was decorated like a pirate ship :) . The shower was great - even though on of the kids had pulled the metal casing off the tube - plenty of hot water and high pressure. The tv was great once you worked out how to use it - they had Cbeebies in English - although it didn't get much use it was good to distract the little one while we fed him a snack.
The whole hotel is themed for little ones with a dragon in the foyer, 3 pirates ships one in the heated pool.
An amazing hotel for families. We took the train from London, involving just one change of trains. The final station is at Disneyland and the hotel has frequent free shuttles that we used for our arrival and departure. The foyer is amazing and the pool was too. Very close to Disneyland yet you feel like you are in the countryside. So much to do for kids in the hotel itself. Breakfast was busy but delicious - lots of choice and restocked constantly. We also paid for the dinner buffet one night - yum - lovely French food. We are from New Zealand and we stopped at New York, Paris, London and San Francisco - this was the kids favourite hotel. Free wifi in the room was much appreciated too.
We arrived early evening to our hotel, there was no problem checking in, our room was ready straight away and very clean. The restaurant served some lovely food til quite late also, making it convenient for us if we'd had a long day at the park or when we first arrived for a reasonable price. There was a shuttle bus every 15-20 minutes to the parks and it was free which was convenient, and it ran up until 11pm so getting back was not an issue. Only issue was it was situated quite far away from the centre of Paris or any shops.
Overall a brilliant stay, would definitely come back again and stay for a Disney trip.
"We stayed at Seqouia Lodge for a weekend in March."
We loved the location of the lodge. It is walking distance to the Disney park and set in beautiful woods. It gives you the feeling of being in California in a redwood/seqouia forest. We really liked the wood beams giving it a real lodge feeling. Beautiful lodge and location perfect for families!

Have stayed here a few times before and it never fails to impress ! Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Brilliant location as it is right beside val d'europe which is a huge shopping complex with shops and lovely resturants. Free shuttle bus takes you to Disneyland and it runs regularly. Absolutely loved my stay here area is safe will definitely be back !
"Great choice for less expensive stay near Disney"
We rode the RER to the Disneyland stop and took the pink #50 bus to the first stop and then walked about 100 meters to the hotel. This was so convenient. This same bus picks you up right at the door to take you back to the station or Disney. The hotel staff was super and spoke English extremely well. The room was very clean. We did sleep on a sleeper sofa which we were a bit concerned about, but it was fine. There is a refrigerator and that is just great. Water does get on the floor every time you use the shower, and that's no ideal, but it was ok. The room is not cleaned daily. There was a city tax charge The mall with a grocery store and many food options was about a 5 minute walk. We never ate breakfast there so can't comment on that. Overall great choice to save some money and still be close to Disney
