The hotel is well run but the rooms are disappointing. Staff are pleasant, but breakfast was a scrum, and we had to ask for several empty dishes to be replenished. They were rushed off their feet, to be fair, but busy breakfast times are hardly a surprise for a hotelier, and it suffers from a lack of staff at busy times, which is the French disease at the moment because staffing costs are ridiculously high. The best thing is the view of the harbour approach from the front bedrooms, which is lovely.

Recently renovated in a historical building, which is 5 centuries old, Le Cheval Blanc is a charming hotel in the city …More
This was a great hotel for families. Has a heated pool and sauna. Friendly staff. The room was large and seperate to the lounge room (with fold out bed) which was great for our family. There is a large supermarket across the road and everything you need to cook in the room. Worth staying a couple of nights really. Honfleur is close by.
Stayed at campaniles a lot but this one is looking its age. Bed linen etc clean but room looking very dated and tatty with lots of dirty areas. staff ok but brusk. good location for access to Lahavre port. food basic
Comfortable, clean basic room for a night's stop over. Room perhaps a bit sparse - would benefit from a couple of lamps/bedside lamp. Some little extras like soap in the bathroom would have been nice. Also would prefer a duvet to a blanket and sheet. No cutlery in the kitchenette but they gave me some at Reception without a problem. Would stay again as it is conveniently located on route to/from Brittany and provides what's needed for a sleep. Wouldn't stay for a holiday though - would want a few more creature comforts for that.
On the southern bank of the Seine’s estuary, the port-city of Honfleur surrounds a picturesque 17th century harbor. Saint Catherine’s Church, constructed by shipbuilders in the 15th century, is composed entirely of wood, and the ceiling resembles the hulls of upside-down ships. Impressionist artists such as Claude Monet and Gustave Courbet once painted murals on the town’s slate-fronted houses.
