Very Nice, convenient hotel in Sedona

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: Convenient location and quiet. very friendly staff.
Cons: Better lighting in the shower and larger bars of soap.
Location: Take Dry Creek Road (next to hotel) & drive out to many wonderful hiking trails which are not as crowded as trails near Uptown Sedona. Mtn bike trails
This hotel is close to many of Sedona's greatest trails for hiking - out on Dry Creek Road. The hotel is located in West Sedona, where the locals eat in the better restaurants and away from the higher prices of the "Uptown" tourist location which is only 2 miles away. Directly across the street is an excellent veterinary clinic if your pet needs help.1/2 mile away is the Safeway plaza with groceries, restaurants (local's Mexican restaurant next to McDonald"s, deli, etc. And across from the Safeway plaza is Sedona,s best Italian restaurant - Dahl & DeLuca with Lisa's Pizza on the next corner -Excellent pizza but it gets crowded fast. Next block is the movie theaters, local art shop and a great frozen yogurt shop and post office. Highly recommended hotel with nice pool and a great free breakfast. Warning- August is monsoon season -don't hike if thunder storms are approaching as flash floods and lightning are extremely dangerous. Take lots of water when hiking; you'll need it and dehydration is quite common with tourist who don't drink plenty of water daily. First sign of dehydration is a headache and low energy/dizziness.. Jerome is a fun old mining town about 22 miles west, just past Cottonwood. Grand Canyon is about a 3 1/2 drive from Sedona. Try to stay overnight in Grand Canyon Village; you'll need a lot of time to see it all -the 7th Wonder of the World. I lived in Sedona for 16 years and know Sedona like the back of my hand. Tons of art shops. Have fun; it's beautiful.

Sedona Get-away

Posted 09-Aug-2014
Pros: I loved that it seemed very secluded . Lots of trees surrounding the hotel, very serene.
Location: Very convenient to the beautiful sights of Sedona and the town itself. Good restaurants nearby. The Coffee Pot for a late breakfast was great.
Couldn't have been happier for a medium priced hotel. The staff was excellent, offering suggestions for eating and sight seeing.

This hotel was overpriced for what you get. It is a basic hotel. They ran out of coffee so no coffee in the room, housekeeping didn't clean the room until after 4pm and they didn't change the sheets. If I had know the condition of the hotel, I would have rented a comfort inn at half the price for a better room.

horribly low water pressure in shower.... powdered scrambled eggs for breakfast not prepared well.... otherwise clean and livable, with friendly management.
