“Great hotel for the location we were looking for!”
We were attending an event at the Columbia Tower Club and wanted a hotel close by. The Arctic Club Hotel couldn't have been more perfect - it was right across the street. This is a former gentleman's club that was turned in to an office building and then renovated in to a hotel in 2008. It's got an "old school" feel to it which we found very charming. From the staff waiting on the front steps to help us with our bags to the front desk staff, everyone was very pleasant. The lobby has a great bar area which is dimly lit and looks very cozy. Our room was spacious (contrary to other reviews we'd read) and was very comfortable. It was clean and very quiet except for street noise which one would expect staying in downtown Seattle. We had breakfast at Juno (the restaurant downstairs) and while it wasn't over-the-top fabulous, it was good and wasn't too expensive. We would absolutely return to this hotel. On a side note, we did not need parking - since we arrived on a Saturday evening and left Sunday morning, we were able to find free street parking.
“wonderful experience”
Highly recommend this hotel!! we came to Seattle Thanksgiving weekend for the Redskins/Seahawks game and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everyone we interacted with at the hotel was wonderful. The restaurant-Juno-was the absolute best hotel restaurant I've ever experienced-everything we ate was delicious. perfect location for any sporting event and if you like to walk. if you only want to be downtown and don't want to walk much I would stay closer to the center of town. we love to walk so it was a great location to see the all the popular sites from-it's also very convenient for public transportation-buses and the lite rail stop is literally at their corner. There is a large homeless population in Seattle and in particular around Pioneer Square but we never felt threatened and the pandering was not aggressive.
“"Sophisticated comfort"”
Wonderfully appointed gentlemen's club...enjoyed our stay! The lobby is huge and a great space to relax, eat, have a drink or read the newspaper while listening to soothing music. Our room was lovely with multiple windows and coffered ceiling details although the position of the bed made it a little difficult to see the TV. The bathroom tile was spot on with the period of the hotel!
“Good value”
Great location for sporting events. Staff were very helpful and polite. Will definately stay here again. Close to shopping and Pikes Market.
“Love the Arctic Club!”
Great hotel!
“good value for money”
very good hotel. downtown location but lot of noise disturbance on the first/second floor rooms.
“Like the golden age of travel...”
Like something out of the golden age of travel this club turned hotel built in 1916 is a welcome blast from the past. Beautifully preserved in all its early 20th Century glory it is still comfortable, clean and very inviting. The service was wonderful and as old school as the building itself. Heck, when the in-room coffee maker is an actual Bodum French Press you know you've stepped up to a different level of service. Obviously pricey but if you are looking for something special this is it.
“beautiful hotel”
Gorgeous hotel, friendly staff. Only down side was slow valet service for your vehicle. I was worried about the noise level when I saw there was a wedding going on that night, never heard a thing. We booked as a "mytery hotel "through expedia for a discounted rate an it was well worth it.
“Cozy hotel, reasonable price, loads of ambiance”
We were greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies upon our arrival at the Arctic Club, which by itself is usually enough to win me over. The atmosphere of the lobby is warm, inviting, and very cozy, inviting you to curl up on the sofa with a good book. There's a fireplace, a bar (which was mostly empty and never noisy, but the staff were friendly), and many pictures and artifacts showcasing the hotel's history and charm. Our room was on the far end of the first floor, which meant some road noise came through, but the road we were on wasn't very busy--at least not for Seattle. No police sirens or ambulances could be heard, just normal car whooshing, which is a given in downtown Seattle. We had giant windows that let in lots of light. We had no trouble sleeping in our firm yet plush bed, with very lovely sheets. We splurged a few extra dollars for a whirlpool suite--well worth the money. The jetted tub is big enough for two if you're skinny and/or don't mind snuggling. Bath products were of exceptional quality, towels were soft yet absorbent. The most notable thing about this hotel is its attention to details. The room transports you to another time, urging you to slow down and ponder what life was like so long ago. Many older hotels seem stuffy and unkempt--that is definitely not the case here. Must see: the ballroom. Absolutely beautiful. If you love old things and history, you will enjoy your stay here.
“Welcome change from boring modern hotels”
The Arctic Club is beautifully renovated and has far more charm than the nearby more modern hotels. The staff is very pleasant and the location convenient. The only improvement I would suggest is having breakfast included in the daily rate. The valet parking may seem expensive but turns out to be perfectly reasonable for downtown Seattle and very convenient.
