“Recommended”
I always find that customer service outweighs any difficiencies in the hotel. And the service here was excellent. The hotel / room itself was large and clean, although required an upgrade in certain areas (dripping toilet). We had a kitchenette but you probably don't need one, as the food in Seattle is fantastic (and especially over the road in Toulouse Petit and Peso - both excellent restaurants). There is a small complimentary breakfast with tea / coffee and bagels. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from downtown and it situated in the lovely area of St Anne. There are 2 restaurants attached to the hotel - I would recommend McHughs for drinks (didn't eat there), the bartender was chatty and friendly. Overall, I can't wait to go back to Seattle and the hotel certainly played a part in this..
“Nice home from home”
Good points Reasonable area near space needle , with close food stores. Nice apartment stile rooms with separate kitchen. Friendly staff, Classic feel to hotel. Could do better, Patchy wifi coverage, no kettle or toaster.
“Generaly Satisfied”
The hotel was conveniently situated for local services and the Space Needle. Room was well appointed in an older style of furnishing which suited the building. The lack of a lift meant that the assistance of a porter was needed to carry the bags to our room. Breakfast was basic but sufficient to start the day.
“Lovely Hotel”
This was a really nice hotel with welcoming staff and great service. The rooms were large and provided a kitchen with a dining area, seating area and two queen beds with an en suite bathroom. We were happy with the Hotel, and although not close to downtown it is a five minute walk to Seattle Centre and the monorail into town. The neghbourhood is pleasant with welcoming places to eat, Peso's across the road from the Hotel is worth a visit - especially during happy hour for inexpensive, quality food. The only let down with this hotel is the standard of breakfasts, so if you chose this hotel for breakfast - don't. Breakfast is long life croissants, long life cereal bars, apples and hot drinks. I would go back to this Hotel on another visit to Seattle but would stock up on breakfasting items from the local supermarket.
“Marqueen Seattle - nice hotel”
The Marqueen is located a few blocks from the Seattle Centre/Space Needle and is an easy walk to the piers/Pike Place Market etc. The early C20 building has been converted nicely into a hotel with more character than most modern chains. Room facilities were good (kitchenette etc) with plenty of nice touches (robes etc). A reasonable selection is provided for the continetal breakfast. The roads past the hotel are quite busy and there is a bar opposite the front entrance so you might want to ask for a quieter room at the rear. Staff were all helpful and friendly.
