“Excellent hotel, especially the staff”
The hotel was great. The rooms, while not huge were perfectly adequate for me and my wife. The internet access was available for free in their 'business centre' which also included free use of a printer. Their wireless connections available in the rooms however were not free. The thing that really stood out though was the customer service. The staff were all eager to help and extremely courteous and when we had an issue with a trip we booked, the staff on the doors noticed we had been waiting for quite a while and so they got the staff on the front desk to contact the tour guides on our behalf and they attempted to sort out the whole mess for us. Really excellent service that when above and beyond the call of duty.
“Excellently located and priced Hotel in Downtown Seattle”
Excellent Hotel. Great location and great staff. I always stay here when in Seattle. Close to shopping, good bars/Food on Capitol Hill and Belltown and public transport.
“Fab, Funky Hotel...an oasis in a sea of brand names”
Had a lovely stay at the Max - it's right in the hear of downtown and only a walk away from all the shops, Pike place market and the many bars and restaurants in Belltown. Red Fin, the bar/restaurant at the Max does amazing sushi and cocktails and is a great place to start (or end) any night out! The only downside to the Max is the size of the rooms and bathroom - they are small (in comparison to most US hotels)
“Shabby chic but cool decor and location”
This is a great hotel which is bang in the middle of where all the action is - a few blocks from the Space Needle and EMP/Science Museum/Seattle Center, and a few blocks from Pike Place Market and the whole downtown upmarket shopping area. Unfortunately, because it is fairly central, it's not uncommon to hear a bit of high spirits late at night and a few police sirens! But on the whole a good hotel, although decor is hip and swanky, it's a bit tatty and slightly dingy. Queen room was quite small, but adequately furnished and clean. Would stay again, but possibly pay extra for a bigger room that doesn't face the street :)
“Excellent hotel”
This hotel was in a fantastic location close to the Monorail terminal, the city centre and local attractions. Rooms were very well designed and stylish. Would definitely stay in this hotel again.
“Good central hotel”
Good, quite central location, easy to walk to sights or to catch public transport to places. Also only a couple of blocks from a couple of large shopping malls & retail core. Had a queen room which is very 'compact' - has what you need for your stay, could do with a little bit more space. May be a fairly common feature in American hotels - airconditioner unit which blows hot air for heating - it was very noisy having it on. Nice touch with the Aveda toiletries & coffee and tea making facillities.
“Not impressed”
A low quality hotel for the rating compared to some of the other lower rating large chain hotels in Seattle. It's in a decent area but the room was cramped with limited facilities.
“Tiny room, claustrophobic bathroom, noisy air conditioning”
We stayed in the Hotel Max during our honeymoon trip to Seattle. On arrival staff we very friendly and accomodating. Thr room was clean, but we were disappointed at how absolutely tiny it was- only a couple of feet to move around the bed and very little room to unpack etc. The bathroom was even worse- the shower was so tiny, the curtain would cling to you etc, really not a nice experience. The hotel is arty and quirky which I guess is the draw. The staff were helpful in letting us have free internet access and arranging taxis from hotel, but unfortunately the standard of rooms really lets the place down. Also the air conditioning units are so noisy! and the neighborhood is pretty noisy too which made for a bad night's sleep. Had stayed in the doubletree arctic the night previously and at a little more money but roughly same hotel rating I would go for the Arctic every time. Disappointing.
“Hotel Max in Seattle is smelly, small and noisy”
I have stayed several times at the Hotel Max in Seattle and I have to say that this time I am very disappointed with my stay here. I was given a tiny tiny room, where I could not even open my suitcase. The room and the whole hotel had a really weird smell of smoke, as if someone had been smoking throughout the entire building. The room was overlooking the factory that sits behind it and since the windows do not have double glazing it was noisy to the point that I woke up at 3am. Will never come back here.
