The Woodlands was a great stay. Sitting on my balcony watching the river outback was very relaxing. The place can use some uppdating, but that wouldn't prevent me from going back. Seems like they were working on some updates while I was there. Taking my dog for a walk in the woods outback annd down by the river was relaxing.

I came an hour after check in .. I had to wait for a room to get cleaned . I believe I was given an handicap room . Definitely an inconvenience ! I wasn’t too happy about it .. I was told they were going to see what they could do but they never got back to me.

Decent enough, site is not very handicap accessible. They have rooms that you can get to, but very limited of you can't do steps can't use any amenities

We as a family enjoyed our stay at Woodlands. It provided everything from a pool, club and delicious food at a great price. Staff was also very nice and ready to help.

Although food and entertainment options are good, the property is in great need of updates. The room given to us had no moulding and oddly shaped bathroom with cracks in the walls. Old and run down equipment made our stay for the night not so comfortable. It was extremely cold.

We had two rooms. One room the television was not working no matter what we did. The second room the door did not lock… meaning the key was NOT needed to gain access to the room. Once in the deadbolt could be used. When checking out I brought this issues up to employee who merely replied, she would let maintenance know. No sense of alarm about the door even after I pointed out how unsafe that is (just leaving personal items that could be stolen or have someone waiting in your room when you get back). No apology, no alarm, nothing. Almost as if it’s normal that door locks do not work properly. Disappointed with rooms. Shower pressure awful. Mattress was amazing.

This is a decent low budget hotel with free parking, fridge and microwave in the room, and two restaurants on site. It can be a little noisy, with other guests, kids, etc. The biggest complaint I had was that they didn't have enough staff -- either at the front desk or in the Italian restaurant. There was a long line-up to check in, with only one person at the front desk, and we waited a really long time for our food, even thought the restaurant wasn't full. Everyone in the restaurant was getting frustrated. In hotels, these days, people typically make reservations, so the managers know how many people they'll need to accommodate. And there are no other restaurants in the area, so everyone in the hotel will be going to the two on-site restaurants. Another time, I would spend more and stay somewhere else.

Always a great experience. Convenient in-house food options. Friday not much happening in the club except other overnight visitors; we all made the most of it and had fun. Saturday the club was hopping and there was a band downstairs. Although the pool is heated, it got chilly real quick (it was the middle of a snow storm). This is great for a romantic getaway or a friends weekend.

This is a convenient, friendly and very reasonably priced hotel, and I would highly recommend it to visitors planning to visit the nearby Mohegan Pennsylvania Casino. The property is easily reachable off the interstate and only a short distance from the above-mentioned casino. The lobby is convenient and has ample close parking. The receptionist was friendly and accommodating and our room was ready, clean and warm. Parking is directly in front of reception and moving our suitcases through the lobby to the elevator was quick and easy. This hotel has several dining options and the very reasonable room rate included a full breakfast beginning at 7:00 am for early risers. The breakfast is buffet style and included, eggs, omelets, sausage, potatoes, juices, coffee, fruit and more. There was also a cheerful host who was clearly eager for the guests to enjoy breakfast. There also seemed to be many return customers who had stayed there previously. Overall, I would recommend this friendly, safe, clean hotel to anyone traveling in the Wilkes Barre area, and the room rate was really a good value.

John- the shuttle driver was excellent. We love the woodlands. Skimpy on the pool towels. I went to the desk for towels for my kids and they wouldn’t give them to me, she said someone has to bring them. It took forever for someone to bring towels. They brought maybe 10 and there were twice that many people in the pool

Went to the Woodlands with fond memories New owners have let it decay. Loud and uncontrolled hallways Weekend drunks and marijuana abusers Disrespectful Housekeepers and cheap too. Had an incident had to move rooms 12:00 in the morning. Broken closets Lightbulbs hanging by their wires in room lamp. Spoke to manager Kelvin. When I complained and got upset-he replied by telling me to shut up or he would have me removed from premises. Front desk mean and grumpy attendants. It’s time the place closes.. It’s a Dump..

This is a strange hotel. First, the hallway to the room was ice cold (it was a cold winter day. The room was ice cold as well, thermostat set to the absolute minimum, 50 degrees, heat off. It took an hour or so to feel any warmth at all in the room. One would have thought that the room would have been pre-warmed. Nope. The very long main hallway ends in a perpendicular hallway that leads to conference rooms and two restaurants: a Japanese restaurant and a brick oven pizzeria and bar combo. After many hours driving, we opted for a quick pizza. Not very appetizing. The room ended up being fairly comfortable and relatively quiet.

we liked the food options, very good, service in restaurants very good. New ownership caused a bad feeling this time very different from when we went a couple years ago. They turn off the heat on all rooms when not occupied, so when we were finally able to check in the room was freezing, took 3 hours to feel even confortable. There was hotel staff in the lobby yelling very bad words all could hear down the complete hallway!! We went to hear the band on a Sat. night, they were very good to listen and dance to, but we were meet upon entering and charged a $10 cover charg, they immediately said, new management what can we say! we never had to pay cover fee before! All I can say good is the shuttle driver was very nice, the room clean, very cold but clean. also the smell of the hotel upon entering and in all the hallways is not pleasant! We will not be going there real soon.

I will never stay at the Woodlands again. The noise from people in the hallway yelling at each other and from the club kept us up all night. The breakfast was subpar for the price that was paid. This hotel used to be a great hotel, but it has declined.

Overall it was pretty good. But it felt like the heat was turned off in the entire building except the restaurant. Everywhere you went it was like a refrigerator. The heater in the bathroom was nice, but the pedestal sink and toilet seemed to be made for a hospital or doctors office. No counter space or flat space to keep your toiletries. All that has to be kept out in the room office desk. The bathroom floor is rustic tile with rough, deep and wide grout in-between. No way to get that clean in my OCD mind... The room floor is all luxury vinyl. Easy to clean I imagine but very cold. You have to walk everywhere with shoes or socks on, which is probably a good idea anyway regardless. Especially in the bathroom because I just didn't feel like the floor was clean. But again, I have a touch of OCD so there's that. Most people probably wouldn't give it a second thought. Very friendly, attentive and competent staff. Very good complimentary hot breakfast buffet (weekdays only). I enjoyed that. The coffee was good with K-Cup machines in the room. They have plenty of sugar, sweetener and half and half so that was no problem. I did not have the opportunity to try out the amenities like the pool, restaurants etc. But it seem like it was well appointed. Overall a good experience and would recommend!

Hotel with many places to eat and bands at night. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Shower had plenty of pressure. View was beautiful from out deluxe room out of glass doors and bacony. Heat was warm in room when we turned it up because cold outside. Outstanding place to stay especially being close to casino with a shuttle that took you it if you called up and requested it.
