“ideal for shopping”
This is a lovely old hotel with character. This hotel is absolutely perfect for a shopping trip to Inverness. You don`t need to carry umpteen bags of shopping around with you, you just pop back to the hotel with them, have a refreshment and start again. Also next the railway station and near the bus station if you wish to go further afield.Annie
“convenient and accommodating”
All went fine. Even a misunderstanding about the breakfast being included was cleared up. Only problem: The wi-fi did not work, even in the lobby. I'd stay there again.
“Trip to Inverness”
The hotel was comfortable and lived up to the publicity about being a bit old fashioned. Although it was next to the railway station there was very little outside noise. The rooms we a bit on the small side and ours was an ex smoking room, where the smell of the smoke clung to the soft furnishings. The breakfast was worth having and the staff very friendly and helpful.
“Faded Glory”
The Royal Highland Hotel is centrally situated and reasonably priced and provided my wife the first bath-tub in a week's worth of travel in Scotland. We arrived too late to dine so I cannot rate the food, but the hotel bar is well-stocked and a nice place to unravel. Our room had been recently spruced up and although small, quite nice. The Royal Highland is an easy walk to main attractions. If you are driving, put your car in the railway station lot and cut through the station to the hotel. Taxis stand just outside the hotel entrance at all hours, but walking to all the main attractions is very easy and safe to do.
“Not Impressed”
Terrible parking situation. Young Staff not helpful with getting internet service to work. High priced for what you get...
“Relaxing New Year Break at lovelly hotel”
Booked in for 2 nights on hogmanay. Room was large and cosy, bathroom also roomy with bath and shower, plenty of hot water. Bar prices not too bad more than back street bars but the same as most hotels. Ate in the hotel Ash restaurant on hogmanay excellant, there was 9 of us eating and everyone raved about meal. Location was perfect right in centre also got parked right outside hotel, although public multi storey not far away and within easy walking distance. Breakfast was also very good plenty of hot food and choice. Our room was quiet no disturbance. Hotel was quaint with character and comfortable seating in reception and bar.
“Warm and comfortable”
Literally next door to the train station and 3 minutes from the bus station.
“Old fashioned lcomfort and style”
This hotel has always been a favourite. It combines central location with style, comfort, service, convenience and character. Recommended.
“Royal Highland Inverness”
My husband was in Inverness on business so I tagged along. We needed a central hotel as I would have no transport. The reviews of RH were mixed so we were very happy to find this wonderful unique characterful 150 year old building in very good condition. We had a very warm welcome from Steve and settled into our room for 5 nights. The room was spotlessly clean,a very comfortable king sized bed, complimentary water &tea making facilities and a lovely bathroom with all the extras such as soap/bubble bath/shower cap and masses of constant hot water.Free WiFi was a bonus.Breakfast was included,a self service buffet with everything you could want and more. All the staff were very friendly.I would be very happy to recommend this unique hotel. If I had to complain it would be the noise from the alley under our window, the rubbish/ bottle recycling would clatter early every morning, which didnt bother us as we were up early, but doulble glazing would help.We will be back in January and will definately stay here again.Esp if the rates are as good!
“Nice old Railway Hotel.”
